An Interesting Little Find
Mar 2020
This museum is housed in a beautiful old mansion. Admission was free, only suggesting a donation. It contained so many original and interesting local artifacts, stories of local citizens, inventions, and businesses, archives, and a very knowledgeable staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

small and pleasant

Small and pleasant, we were walking by so we looked in. Fundamentally it is a well preserved upper class 19th century home with a few rooms set aside for minor exhibits.

Great experience
Jul 2018 • Family
If it is history you like this is the place to visit. Affordable for a family. Interesting and unforgettable, you will want to bring your camera and get some good pictures for social media. It is worth the visit. It is not overwhelming and offers much in telling a story in history.

Lovely place
Sep 2018 • Friends
The museum is housed in a residence built in 1860. I was particularly impressed by how the collection was organized. Each room was packed with things to see, but they were all arranged in a logical and meticulous manner. Everything seemed spotless. I remarked on this to a volunteer and she told me a professional cleaning crew comes in once a week. It really shows. There are items in the house from daily living in the 1800s. The most impressive item for me was a Tiffany stained glass window that was rescued from a nearby building that was scheduled for demolition. It was simply beautiful and you can walk right up to it. My group was led by a special guide that we had hired. She told us about the history of this house, and the surrounding area, and its importance in the Underground Railroad.

Beatiful Tour of Local History

Lovely home with each room decorated in a period theme. We received a very special one on one guided tour from one of the societies docent's. She was extremely knowledge about the home the families that had lived there and Ypsi history in general. a nice step back in time
