We visit Somerset every time we are in Detroit. This time it was just for Macy's, the Apple Store and dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. The mall wasn't as crowded as we expected for a Friday evening. Shopping was OK and dinner not so.

The Somerset Collection is an island of beauty in the hubbub of urban liviving. The shops are acutely interesting and offer a great variety of wares, in particular for the upcoming Valentine’s Day sweetheart. Great place to find that unique gift for a special someone.

Huge upscale mall with 3 levels. Macys and Norstroms are the base stores. No Disney store :( Vera Bradley store will be closing soon. Small food court considering how many stores.

High class people. Nice atmosphere. Upscale stores. They have a skylight you can take from one section of the mall to the other. It's kind of fun. There are 2 Starbucks in the mall. One by California's pizza kitchen has a much better service than the other one.Staff are polite & efficient, but in case there is a problem, manager makes it right. Nice food court.Today i tried "Zoup" on the food cout. This was my first time at any Zoup.I was impressed.Their soups are one of the best. Seafood soups are to die for. Associates were pleasant. My favorite place for a soup is Sweet Tomatoes, although Zoup has a larger seafood soup selection plus there are no Sweet Tomatoes in MI.Somerset Collection has Nordstrom,Macy's,Neiman Marcus,Saks fith Avenue.Price wise Macy's is the most reasonable. I like WHBM & Chico's at Somerset. They need better managemant and customer service at this particular mall, but have a great selection of stuff,if you like to shop at those.Somerset Collection gets busier on the weekends. The other upscale mall in Michigan is Twelwe Oaks Mall in Novi.

Split in two in either side of the road. One side more exclusive shops (Louis V, Gucci etc) the other side a good mix of department store and special boutiques.
Modern and very clean but full of people (ages and races) that did not appear to be buying anything. Good food court for “light meals” and a popular “Chang’s” on the ground floor at the exclusive corner which was always busy.
Ok for a look but limited in value for money unless you’re looking for specifics.

Somerset Mall is a great destination to shop. My wife swears it is the Best Mall in the Country. From Saks, Nieman Marcus, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Gucci to mention a few. The mall is a treat to shop at.

What makes this mall unique? It's the skylight going from one section of the mall to the other. No doubt, it is a beautiful, upscale mall and is one of my favorite malls in MI. But it is not the best of the best as some people think. What about Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas orSawgrass Mills in FL? If you've been at those two, you know what I mean. Nevertheless Somerset Mall is a beautiful place to shop. There is a great food court as well as some great restaurants ( California Pizza Kitchen, J Alexander, etc...) As far as the customer service goes, it depends on a store. Neiman Marcus perfume department was outstanding (ask for Linda), so was Nordstrom store. Macy's good for the most part. I am a big fan of high end woman's boutiques such as White House Black Market and Chico's. All the associates at White House Black Market at Somerset were great except two maybe, while Chico's was as worst as it gets. Had to set up a fitting room all by myself, no help at all, lot's of associates at this Chico's were asking bunch of personal questions and excessively addressed me as sweetie, sweetheart and such, but did not offer any help in what I needed the most - help me to set up a fitting room. Just doesn't add up. Seems like this particular Chico's boutique is poorly managed and I will not shop here again. But i am definitely planning to come back to this beautiful mall and shop at other stores.

This "collection" of fine department and specialty stores and restaurants is a unique shopping experience. Here you'll find two distinct malls, one with Macy's and Nordstrom's as anchor stores.; another with Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton and other high-end merchants. The food courts offer a variety of healthy and delicious options, while the restaurants, like PF Changs and Capital Grill offer nicer dining options in a relaxed atmosphere. The bargains are great, especially when Macy's has a sale or Fossil is running a special ... which is frequently. Stop by Teavana for some unique teas to take home.

Very large mall located in Auburn Hills and about 15 minutes from the Great Lakes crossing outlet mall. Two malls joined by an indoor skywalk. One side is all luxury high end stores. Nicely done so that if your not interested in the high end items in can do all your shopping on one side of the complex. Convient parking in the parking garage.
