We had the BEST time on our Leelanau Peninsula wine tour. We had a major snow storm come in that threatened to thwart our plans. Greg was on top of it at all times and arranged for an even better tour stop when one of our planned venues canceled. Our driver, Rebecca was nothing short of fabulous. She kept us safe when road conditions deteriorated. She was fun, cheery, and took the absolute best care of us. We loved her! We will definitely book with this company again and recommend it to friends and family.

Grand Traverse Tours is terrible at booking your reservation. I reached out back in April to reserve a spot for a booking this fall. On their website it says request a reservation. I filled out the information, requested my date and vehicle size. From there I was corresponding via email with an associate. After that I spoke on the phone with someone from the company and confirmed my date time vehicle and number in my group. I confirmed my date and time via the phone conversation. Nowhere on the website, in the email or on the phone conversation was anything explained about the necessary steps to confirm my booking officially (leaving a card on file, down payment or any further information) no one in the company asked me for more information to confirm my booking. I was led to believe that my booking was complete and payment was due upon arrival after the conversation on the phone in April ( for an October date) I contacted them 5 months later a couple weeks leading up my event to make sure I had the contact information and pick up time correct. That is when the company for the first time told me I should’ve had a confirmation number and a down payment number to prove my booking. I told them nothing of the sort was ever explicitly told to me at that time I originally sent my reservation request and confirmed my date and time and pick up with associate on the phone back in April. They continued to tell me it was my fault for not asking the right questions. He stated their associate surely would’ve told me about the booking fee if I asked the “right questions”. He continued to tell me because they get so many calls and inquiries about their tour company when people ask the right questions, that prompts their associates to remind customers about the down payment. Not only did I send a reservation request via their website, I ask questions about date, time, pick up location, and vehicle. How are those not the right questions? He continued to explain how “businesses typically work.” He was very condescending and took no responsibility for the associate not doing their job to confirm my booking. Their company did not complete the sale or transaction, explain or confirm that I was booked or wanted to book. Clearly I wanted to book. They did say they would put be at the top of their call back list and gave me a list of wineries I drive to on our without a reservation. Thanks, but we don’t need that; we needed a DD. They also told me to call if i needed to talk to someone. I called multiple times over the course of multiple days. They did not answer. I left a message. They did not call back. I do not appreciate the way I was treated. They did not take responsibility for their lack of knowledge of their own policies. Do not book a tour with them.

We booked a private wine tour with Grand Traverse Tours. Greg was very responsive and informative during the booking process. He communicated with me several times leading up to the day of the tour. Unfortunately, on the morning of the tour we received a call informing us that our scheduled driver had suffered a serious injury and could not drive us. There were no other drivers available. Instead of just telling us “sorry” and issuing a refund, Grand Traverse Tours reached out to a competing tour company and arranged for them to take us on our scheduled tour. Grand Traverse Tours made sure they had all of our information, our itinerary and all our reservation numbers. They made sure the new company even honored the price we contracted through Grand Traverse Tours. This act of incredible professionalism really made a difference to us as we had been looking forward to the tour for a while. Things happen in life that are unplanned and unavoidable. The fact that Grand Traverse tours took the time to make sure our plans were not disturbed speaks volumes about their company ethics. The new tour did a really good job and we made great memories.

We decided to do a wine tour while on our vacation in Michigan this month. Greg was great to work with during the planning process. He was very responsive, answered all my questions, and handled our winery reservations. We chose a vehicle based on needing a van that would accommodate car seats/booster seats (the latch system was perfect in the van we rode in). Rebecca was our driver and she was wonderful! She was so personable and friendly. She took tons of pictures for us, which we really appreciated having. She also surprised us by offering to take the 3 children to find a table while we waited on our wine. She was so great with them! We can't wait to ride with Rebecca on our next Michigan trip!!
