About
Welcome to Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery. Spanning 155 acres, Brys Estate is the largest contiguous winery estate on Old Mission Peninsula. Opened in 2005, we're a family-run business that crafts wines from our 53,000 vines planted less than a mile from Lake Michigan. The Brys experience includes an old-world tasting room, unique Upper Deck, and a barn-turned-guest house that offers panoramic views of the bay and Old Mission Peninsula.

    Top Notch
We stopped here on a private wine tour and this was by far our favorite. The charcuterie board was delicious and we enjoyed almost every wine we tried. I’m not a rosé drinker but the frosé was dangerously good. Definitely a must stop!
Thank you for joining us and sharing about your experience! We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed many of our wines, including our wine slushie (Frosé). We hope to welcome you back in the future!

    The BEST Frose
We had a good tasting here outside at the lawn bar as part of our wine tour. What makes this winery stand out though is their frose. It was suggested that we get the cab/merlot topper, and I would also recommend this as their frose is the best we have ever had.
Thank you for visiting and sharing your love for our Frosé (wine slushie)!

    You should go!
Tour guide Eric set the tone for a fantastic 2 hours! He effortlessly tossed in humor as he divulged fascinating information throughout the property. Wine was fantastic, food and stops were perfectly planned and much appreciated. I highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys great wine!
Thank you for the 5-star review! We're so glad you enjoyed your Wine Wagon Tour & Tasting experience and the company of your tour guide!

Love Brys! It's a Must Do on the OMP!!
I brought a friend to Brys for the first time. Dania was so sweet and kind. She made sure that we had a great table with a view of East Bay so my girlfriend could take in the beauty of Brys and Grand Traverse Bay. Abigale was our server and took great care of us and was fun to interact with. She was like a Sister from another Mister. We had a great experience at Brys from the amazing wines, great charcuteria board an the stunning views on a beautiful fall day! Thank for a lovely afternoon!
Thank you for sharing about your recent visit to our tasting room! We're so glad you had a wonderful visit and enjoyed the level of service Dania and Abigale provided. Please feel welcome to join us again.

We had so much fun at Brys. Indoor tasting in a barrel lined room was a great atmosphere. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. The wine was phenomenal and the flights were a blast. The outdoor views from the immaculate decks of the vines and Lake Michigan are draw dropping.

Brys wines have quickly become some of my favorite MI wines from this region. My husband and I visited here a 2nd time in August 2020 and again this August and both times, were made to feel welcome (more so than our first encounter in 2016). We were on a tour in 2020 and had reservations and quickly purchased an entire case of their wines, they were so good. The terrace seating is lovely and the view unmatched. We brought our underaged teens here this August without reservations and the host quickly fit us in at a premier table on the terrace, which I really appreciate, since half of us could not partake of the wines. The charcuterie board pleased all of us and I enjoyed my 5 glass wine tower tasting as well. We once again left with 6 bottles to be enjoyed for months to come.

From all of us, thank you for your return visit! We're so glad to hear you've had enjoyable visits to our tasting room and the Upper Deck. Always happy to hear that our guests found a bottle or two (or 12!) to carry out for later enjoyment. Cheers!

I’ve been to most of the wineries around Traverse City because I live in TC and I like good wine. Each winery in the area was their own personality. Brys Estate is my favorite because I love their wine, some of the best in the region, and their outdoor decks have great views and good social distancing. I am a wine club member and recommend membership because I think it’s a good value, and they have shipping for one penny (or two free glasses of wine if you pickup). The main reason that I’m a wine club member is that their wine is great in my opinion.

Had a reservation, was seated immediately with a menu. Waitress came by with water within 15 mins. 15 min later we still had not been waited on we asked another waitress to find our waitress so we could place an order. Dania was very nice and wanted to take our order but for some reason our assigned waitress wouldn’t allow her to. Our assigned waitress Mi STILL never came over. Now 45 mins after arriving we were greeted by a waiter named Cooper. Cooper was amazing and informed us that they gave us the new guy because they figured we were upset after never being waited on. Copper was the nicest waiter and supposedly it was his first day and he did a phenomenal job.

My daughter and I stopped here on our TC Uncorked weekend. A severe thunderstorm had just begun outside, lightning, thunder and pouring rain. After asking if we had a reservation (we did not), the gal at the desk told us to go to a couple of wineries and come back and they should be able to accommodate us. In the middle of a really bad thunderstorm. And they weren’t that busy! Needless to say, we did not go back and probably won’t go there again.

Hello there. We’re very sorry that we weren’t able to accommodate you on your recent stop to the tasting room. Unfortunately during this time of the year when it rains and seating outdoors on our Upper Deck is not possible and we have to seat indoors, seating is very limited due to our building constraints. We feel we do the best we can to communicate that reservations are strongly encouraged and will always the best way to secure a table (especially during weekend visits) no matter the weather. I’m sorry that you felt turned away. We do hope you’ll give us another shot!

We were greeted by a very out-going man who showed us to a table on the deck. There is a very beautiful view from there looking over the vineyard to the lake in the distance. I shared a tasting with my husband. It consisted of a flight of 5 wines, 1.5 oz pours for $15. I personally don't enjoy this style of experience as much as at a counter with someone talking to me about them. Our server was very nice, and another young man was helpful to serve us! The wines were good, and ended up purchasing 1 bottle. We drove the truck down to the Secret Garden and looked inside the shop. There were a large number of lavender plants in bloom-beautiful scent, and some small pots of plants for sale.

My husband loved this winery with all the cherry wood throughout the interior. It is gorgeous! We shared a Tasting Tower, a Frose' with a Frose' Topper and a delicious Cheese and Charcuterie Board! We had a personal winery guide who gave us great recommendations (Mike at The Magic Shuttle Bus) and let us just take our time enjoying the tastings, view and the cozy fire! We will definitely go back to this winery. What a gem!

My adult female cousins group spent three perfect nights at the Brys Estate private guest house (bookable on their website). Every expectation was exceeded, from our welcome (we felt like VIPs) checking in at the winery and being led to our corner table on the scenic elevated deck) to the immaculately decorated and clean house itself (the owners renovated a tractor barn, turning it into a storybook setting cottage with gorgeous views of the vineyard and bay). As guests of the estate we enjoyed a treasure trove of complimentary goodies as well, including bottled wine, wine flights, glasses of wine, a charcuterie board, lavender-scented bath and body goodies from the Secret Garden shop, and a basket of welcome treats. The setting and customer service made our stay one for the memory books. I would return in a second, given the chance.

Honestly I loved this place when we visited last year with our two small children but this year the experience was so terrible we ended up leaving. Last year we were seated and everybody was very kind. The service was super and the balcony was practically full. This year the first balcony only had a few tables occupied and the second balcony was was half full and somebody told us it was reservations only. Although we did not have a reservation he assumed we did not without even asking. Either way, We said no problem thinking he’d take us to the first balcony (which is where we were seated last year without reservations). He ended up walking us to the garden area near the parking lot. There was no view, not a full menu, we weren’t able to get our charcuterie boards and honestly I was very upset with how all of it was handled. I felt very discriminated against because we have our two smaller children. I will not be coming back to this one.

We have gone on “Fall off the Wagon” tour three different times. Erick was our guide on our maiden voyage, and since then, we always request him. What fun!!! Our guests to northern Michigan always comment that the tour and visit to Brys are their most memorable activities!!!! It is well worth the two hours to do the tour…the wine pretty spectacular, too!!!!
