    A most enjoyable experience
There were many highlights: the Winewagon tour with guide Erick, the outside deck with beautiful views high above the vineyard, the courtesy of wine tasting room staff, the Frose creation, The Secret Garden and it’s lavender products… It was well worth the trip from Texas! And, lest I forget, tasting many lovely wines, complemented by a charcuterie board and/or a Mezza lunch box, we’re outstanding! Service was exemplary from all the staff! Our 4-night stay in the Guesthouse was charming and convenient.
Thank you for sharing such a kind overview of your recent experience staying in our Private Guesthouse, participating in a Wine Wagon Tour & Tasting, and lounging at the tasting room for wine and other accompaniments. We look forward to welcoming you again!

Great spot for a fantastic glass of Pinot!
We covered 7 vineyards on Old Mission Peninsula yesterday. At this point, Brys is my #1 spot for Pinot Grigio and Pinot noir in the U.S. Not only is the vino superb, but the location is beautiful, staff was very friendly and if you like lavender, you get extra special treat this time of year. It can get busy at times. For sure think about reservations. We did, and got right in.
We're so glad you enjoyed our Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir wines and were able to take in the beauty of our sister property, the Secret Garden at Brys Estate. We sincerely appreciate your 5-star review!

    Beautiful setting with good wines!
We were greeted by a very out-going man who showed us to a table on the deck. There is a very beautiful view from there looking over the vineyard to the lake in the distance. I shared a tasting with my husband. It consisted of a flight of 5 wines, 1.5 oz pours for $15. I personally don't enjoy this style of experience as much as at a counter with someone talking to me about them. Our server was very nice, and another young man was helpful to serve us! The wines were good, and ended up purchasing 1 bottle. We drove the truck down to the Secret Garden and looked inside the shop. There were a large number of lavender plants in bloom-beautiful scent, and some small pots of plants for sale.
Thank you for joining us and taking the time to share such a kind review! We're so happy you enjoyed your experience at our tasting room and that you were also able to visit our sister property, the Secret Garden at Brys Estate. We look forward to hosting you again!

    Great Experience!
We took an intimate (6 guests) wagon tour with Erick as our "pilot". It was a great experience. Erick is very knowledgeable about the history of the winery and present day workings. He has such a great sense of humor and we really enjoyed our tour. We will be back!!
We're happy to hear you had a great time during your Wine Wagon Tour & Tasting! Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We'll see you again soon!

    Prettiest spot on the Peninsula.
The prettiest spot on the Peninsula. Don't miss the lavender fields as they are spectacular. Lots of spaces to taste but the rear deck is the best. I would suggest a reservation if you are coming on the weekend. The Frose' was very tasty on a warm day.
Thank you for the 5-star review!

If you can only do 1 vineyard, make it this one
Husband and I were looking to kill some time before a rehearsal dinner and thought we'd check out a winery. We are both so glad we picked this one! We did a tasting, which includes 5 pours of any different wines that you choose. The menu is big enough that there is something for everyone and the gentleman doing the pours was very friendly and knowledgeable. All staff that we interacted with was very friendly, in fact. We sat on the lawn and each had another full pour - I definitely recommend a frosé with a bubbly topper- before we had to leave. We didn't want to go, we could have stayed for hours!
We're so happy you decided to join us and that you had a wonderful visit! We look forward to serving you again. Cheers!

Don’t miss “Fall off the Wagon” at Brys!!!!
We have gone on “Fall off the Wagon” tour three different times. Erick was our guide on our maiden voyage, and since then, we always request him. What fun!!! Our guests to northern Michigan always comment that the tour and visit to Brys are their most memorable activities!!!! It is well worth the two hours to do the tour…the wine pretty spectacular, too!!!!
Thank you, Sue Ellen for your continued patronage! Our Wine Wagon Tour & Tasting is an immersive 2-hour tour of the Brys Estate property that includes wine sampling at multiple locations. We're so happy your guests have all enjoyed it! We hope to welcome you again.

    Secret Garden & Stunning View!
Beautiful location! Very busy Friday mid-afternoon. We sat on the patio overlooking the vineyards, had the charcuterie and cheese platter, and I followed fellow trip advisors’ advice and had the frose’ with a bubbly topper. Absolutely delicious! They do have a 75 minute time limit, but if you want to extend your time, they have extra seething off the patio. We took the little cart to the Secret Garden, their lavender farm. Cute shops with soaps & lotions & lavender. Also has snacks and drinks and seating outside. The smell of the fields outside was amazing! I can only imagine what it would be like in season!
Thank you for the 5 stars and for sharing an overview of your experience with future visitors! We're so happy you had a nice time and were able to enjoy our many offerings here at Brys Estate and the Secret Garden at Brys Estate.

Great Wine, Great Views, Great Experience
We had so much fun at Brys. Indoor tasting in a barrel lined room was a great atmosphere. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. The wine was phenomenal and the flights were a blast. The outdoor views from the immaculate decks of the vines and Lake Michigan are draw dropping.
Thank you for sharing such a kind review! We're so happy you enjoyed your visit to our winery tasting room.

Beautiful, picturesque property and awesome tour!
Had a fantastic time at this winery! Did the wagon tour with MJ. She was a great guide and extremely knowledgeable. We’ve done many wine tours and this one was a standout! MJ took us all over the picturesque property, and we got to see the process from end to end - wine to bottle! The estate is also home to a lovely garden. Highly recommend this as a stop for any visit to Traverse City!
Thank you for sharing such a kind review! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our Wine Wagon Tour & Tasting experience and were pleased with MJ's service. Cheers to you!

We had a reservation, they had great safety protocols upon arrival, masks, temperature checks and social distancing. Once you get inside the winery patrons with no masks on, staff doesn’t even attempt to ask them to wear them. Staff behind the counter mask below the nose. If you care enough to check my temperature, then care enough to enforce the rules!

We participated in the Traverse City Beer and Wine Tours event on July 4. This was our first stop. They had a lawn bar which overlooked the east bay, and had plenty of shade. We did need a mask to order drinks and the only food was a $9 box of airplane snacks. They had a frozen wine drink ($9) which you could top with more wine for more money. We did get to keep the souvenir wine glasses, which were etched with the BEV logo. The staff was very friendly, but they cannot take a picture of us (CoVid). There was a nice breeze and the grounds were beautiful. We will be back, so long as it is on the TC Beer and Wine tour agenda!

We opted for glasses of wines instead of tasting room due to the line. They had a nice set up of tables. Limited number of people allowed (Covid) in each area so we waited maybe 20 min at most. We purchased 3 whites and light red - the whites were from Pinot Grigio to late harvest. Very good. Beautiful and relaxing. Lady checking us in was super nice -highly recommend and worth the stop!

We visited Brys with the Snowshoe Wine and Brew tour. We have been members for over a year. I let the staff know when we arrived of our member status, which meant nothing. The hostess was rude and very unorganized. We asked for reservations to do a tasting but were told we could not be accommodated for the day - really? Several of the outdoor fire pits were not working and you would think the winery would put a tent over the nice back deck area to accommodate business in the days of COVID. Membership gets no great benefits so we will stick to our local Indiana wineries to celebrate the beauty of wine and friends. Cancelling!

My daughter and I stopped here on our TC Uncorked weekend. A severe thunderstorm had just begun outside, lightning, thunder and pouring rain. After asking if we had a reservation (we did not), the gal at the desk told us to go to a couple of wineries and come back and they should be able to accommodate us. In the middle of a really bad thunderstorm. And they weren’t that busy! Needless to say, we did not go back and probably won’t go there again.

Hello there. We’re very sorry that we weren’t able to accommodate you on your recent stop to the tasting room. Unfortunately during this time of the year when it rains and seating outdoors on our Upper Deck is not possible and we have to seat indoors, seating is very limited due to our building constraints. We feel we do the best we can to communicate that reservations are strongly encouraged and will always the best way to secure a table (especially during weekend visits) no matter the weather. I’m sorry that you felt turned away. We do hope you’ll give us another shot!

My wife and I enjoyed a wine tasting at Brys Estate winery. We had reservations for 2pm but, due to finishing our hike at Old Mission State Park early, we arrived at 1pm. We were seated immediately on the upper deck along the railing with a spectacular view of the estate. Once seated, a group has 90 minutes of time at their table - more than ample time to taste some great wines in a relaxing environment. The wines, as well as the method of presentation of the flight tasting, are second-to-none (see photo of how each glass is identified on the stem base). We bought a Pinot Blanc to bring home. Easily the best winery we have visited in the general Traverse City area.

Brys wines have quickly become some of my favorite MI wines from this region. My husband and I visited here a 2nd time in August 2020 and again this August and both times, were made to feel welcome (more so than our first encounter in 2016). We were on a tour in 2020 and had reservations and quickly purchased an entire case of their wines, they were so good. The terrace seating is lovely and the view unmatched. We brought our underaged teens here this August without reservations and the host quickly fit us in at a premier table on the terrace, which I really appreciate, since half of us could not partake of the wines. The charcuterie board pleased all of us and I enjoyed my 5 glass wine tower tasting as well. We once again left with 6 bottles to be enjoyed for months to come.

My adult female cousins group spent three perfect nights at the Brys Estate private guest house (bookable on their website). Every expectation was exceeded, from our welcome (we felt like VIPs) checking in at the winery and being led to our corner table on the scenic elevated deck) to the immaculately decorated and clean house itself (the owners renovated a tractor barn, turning it into a storybook setting cottage with gorgeous views of the vineyard and bay). As guests of the estate we enjoyed a treasure trove of complimentary goodies as well, including bottled wine, wine flights, glasses of wine, a charcuterie board, lavender-scented bath and body goodies from the Secret Garden shop, and a basket of welcome treats. The setting and customer service made our stay one for the memory books. I would return in a second, given the chance.

Had a reservation, was seated immediately with a menu. Waitress came by with water within 15 mins. 15 min later we still had not been waited on we asked another waitress to find our waitress so we could place an order. Dania was very nice and wanted to take our order but for some reason our assigned waitress wouldn’t allow her to. Our assigned waitress Mi STILL never came over. Now 45 mins after arriving we were greeted by a waiter named Cooper. Cooper was amazing and informed us that they gave us the new guy because they figured we were upset after never being waited on. Copper was the nicest waiter and supposedly it was his first day and he did a phenomenal job.

My husband loved this winery with all the cherry wood throughout the interior. It is gorgeous! We shared a Tasting Tower, a Frose' with a Frose' Topper and a delicious Cheese and Charcuterie Board! We had a personal winery guide who gave us great recommendations (Mike at The Magic Shuttle Bus) and let us just take our time enjoying the tastings, view and the cozy fire! We will definitely go back to this winery. What a gem!
