The day we were able to hit the streets of downtown Traverse City was a bleak day that was overcast with off and on drizzle. We had done our research beforehand, leafing through the travel guide, so we knew of a few places that we...More

Lot's of great shops and restaurants. The sidewalks are very treacherous in the winter though. I'm surprised they don't do a better job.

There is a large variety of stores on Main Street Traverse City for virtually all budgets. If you tire of shopping there are many very good non chain restaurants. I always find it fun to be on Main Street.

Fun to look, a bit pricey in spots. Make sure you stop in Cherry Republic for everything cherry. Except for restaurants, most stores close early (5 pm) anytime other than summer.

Went to Traverse City for New Years Eve cherry Ball drop. We were snowed out(really this is true). They had to cancel because a really heavy snow system moved through the area making travel very hazardous. We still had a great time and can't wait...More

The big shopping district downtown Traverse City with lots of local and unique stores, and local restaurants. Spent several hours going store to store.

Wow! I had no idea that there were so many stores and so many restaurants in Traverse City! It's a great way to spend the day. Go hungry and save your pennies for all the boutique shopping. We mostly window shopped but that was still...More

My daughter-in-law and I visited Traverse City and spent the day shopping Front Street and enjoying the restaurants downtown. We love it and go here every summer.

Although I can't answer with certainty, it's a very up and coming city, so I'm sure gluten free is an option. I would check the menu online first to be sure!

San Pedro Cruise Centre (2 Replies)
Hi, we are arriving at Berth 92 San Pedro from NCL Star. We have booked a transfer from Port to Amtrak Union Station, LAX. Our transfer states pick-up at LAH, 501 N Front Street, San Pedro. Once we have cleared immigration/security checks how far is it to 501 N Front Street and is it easy to find? 1st time to San Pedro so no idea of where to go/how to get there!!! Thanks for any help.

Thank you for the information. We don't know exactly where we will exit the cruise terminal but I have printed the map and hopefully it will just be the 5 minute walk. Thanks again

TR 3 - Drive up North and lots of Front Street (6 Replies)
We started our morning off with breakfast at Moose's and the walked around Front Street a bit. I love being there in the early morning when it's quiet and empty. There is something peaceful about it. After breakfast we had planned on going to the Ocean Center but the traffic was so bad due to the construction we decided it was a bad idea. We headed north instead toward Kapalua and made it as far as Honolua Bay. We got some great pictures of one of our favorite spots. We drove around Kapalua...More

Spending Sunday with friends in Lahaina (13 Replies)
We had friends visiting us Sunday. We decided to all walk into town for breakfast at the Pioneer Inn. Got a nice table with a view of the Lahaina Light and the Lahaina loading dock. Ordered pancakes and egg sandwiches in bagels. We were happy with the food and the service was good. I think it was about 50% residents in the bar and restaurant. Lots of action to watch as a Trilogy boat left on some clean up mission. We walked down to the Light and a fisherman's bell started going off. Great...More
