Clean crisp water!! Yes it's a little cold, but not too cold to hang out at the shore. Bath rooms available. No showers. Volley ball net. Family friendly. Beautiful beach !!

I have camped in the State Park for 3-4 years consecutively. Typically, we go in August and the weather has always treated us well. Within those trips, here are my personal notes: Pros: Cheap option compared to pricey hotels nearby, centrally located near restaurants, beaches,...More

I love the Traverse City State Park beach, but on a recent visit I wondered if they had hired for the summer. The bathroom needed attention. However, I did witness some people bring their dog on the beach and a ranger came over and took...More

Impressive state park. Extremely clean and well kept. Camping spots are rather open and because the park is busy, there is a lot of activity and you can hear your neighbor’s conversations. Lots of shade. We loved the pedestrian bridge to the beach.

On a trip to TC I visited friends on a camping trip there. Not for me-Rvs packed closely in a well-treed park on the main road. But my friends loved it. I do enjoy the campfire smells whenever I drive by when I'm in TC....More

If you want a very unique experience stay at this state park during Halloween. There are more trailers, tents and motor homes decorated than any other place I have seen. The park gets involved and has some very nice events. Take the time to schedule...More

Convenient location but on very busy US 31, beach on north side of road, camping on south side. Traverse city has a lot going on and good variety of resturants.

This Park sits right on the highway so there is traffic noise! However, at night with A/C running we could not hear it. From the Park, you can easily access the TART bike trail and ride to town (about 4 miles). Our site was level...More

The state park backs up to the TART trail. So you can do miles of snow shoeing. Just google TART Traverse Area Recreational Trail for maps. Amazing location.

The parking lot and entrance close, but if you're walking over from the park nothing and no one will stop you.
