The tour was fantastic, Mike was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire distillation process. He made us feel so welcomed into the distillery, it was very obvious he enjoys his job. Mike had no trouble answering any of our questions. The smell in the rickhouse was absolutely incredible!
We stayed for the tasting after the tour, again Mike's knowledge of the spirits shone through. I named the vodka I regularly drink, and one I don't like. Mike lined me up a tasting of the three types of vodkas made at GTD so I could figure out I like wheat vodka!
We both left with a bottle - cocoa bean vodka for me and silver rum for my friend.
The guys in the tasting room were great as well, hospitality was top notch. They even gave us tips for our adventure to Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Thanks so much for such a fantastic experience - We will definitely be back!

Elias our tour guide was fantastic. He was knowledgable about the product, process, and brought a sense of humor to our experience. The bourbon is fantastic (we bought three bottles). It is a small batch distillery and they take great care to produce a quality product.
This small business has surpassed so many distilleries with their personal touches that make the spirits their own.
We started the tour sampling spirits and got a good feel of the products they have.
We got to tour the distillery and the rickhouse, they are very open about their processes.
We loved it and will be back in a couple weeks for the cocoa bean!!

We went for the tour and stayed for the tastings. You get to taste several of the liquors before and during the tour and its very cool to see the entire distilling process. Tour guide was nice and helpful.

We went on a tour which was well worth our time and provided a great deal of enjoyment. Cindy provided valuable information about this “micro distillery”. At the end we were given a menu to select the various products we wanted to try. Wow! Upon leaving we were each given sipping glasses to take home.
I’m proud to be a Michigander and say that these quality products are created in my state.
Don’t miss this opportunity to visit the distillery!

We enjoyed drinks at the bar. The staff was friendly. The lemonade slush was amazing. Lots of people came in to get slushes to go. If you haven’t had their lemonade slush, you need to!

Hello
Thanks for coming in and taking time to review our tasting room! We added the slushy machine this summer and it has been a hit! Great way to cool down a hot day and the choice of spirits to add in are fun. Who would know that Peninsula Gin makes a excellent slushy, (as well as many others).
Cheers and come back soon.

We stopped for a tasting. We tasted and we bought. Our tasting server (I wish I could remember his name) was great at describing the various tastings and had a wonderful personality. This is definitely worth a stop.

We were visiting Traverse City from Arizona and decided to head downtown and check out the shops. As luck would have it we came across Grand Traverse Distillery Tasting Room and thought why not give the Gin choices a little tasting. Well as typically happens we tasted two Gins, bought a bottle of Peninsula Gin which is finished in whiskey barrels, purchased a Righteous Rum Jerk Sauce and of course snagged a jar of Cherry BBQ Sauce. So then we left and had some Sushi at Red Ginger where it occurred to us we needed to try out a Martini with our Peninsula Gin, but didn’t want to open the bottle just yet. So back to Grand Traverse Distillery Tasting Room we went where we enjoyed two Martinis with Peninsula Gin, Vermouth and a lemon twist. Everything was great and the service was excellent. I wish I could remember our servers name, but I know she is studying and working with families and their children as needed. We definitely had a great time and enjoyed some great tasting libations. Highly recommend!

Hello Tim
Thanks so much for taking time to give your kind reveiw of GTD and our staff member who served you! They do a great job, even short handed as we have been (most business in our area are working short handed as there are not enough people looking for work as the jobs needed).
Cheers and plase come back soon. There will be more Peninsula Gin waiting for you.

First time in TC! We fell upon the tasting room one day and stopped in for a cocktail. It was an off season week day so pretty empty. Drinks were tasty. We had done some winery tastings ahead of this so no tastings done here on day one. We ventured back the next day to do a spirits tasting. Claire was awesome and took the time to explain the product and answer questions. It was just myself and my husband and we had a great time talking with Claire. Ended up taking a few bottles home. Will definitely visit again!

On a recent trip to Frankemuth we sampled a drink with creme soda, cherry vodka, and Cocoa bean vodka. Can you tell me what the proportions are - the drink is yummy!!
Thanks!!

Hello Karen
So sorry I just saw your question, reached out to staff in Frankenmuth and below is the answer..,..
It would be 1 part Cocoa Bean Vodka to 3 parts Cream Soda and then a splash of Cherry Vodka.

I tried a lemonade cocktail in your tasting room with your cherry vodka that tasted exactly like an astro popsicle and loved it! I bought the vodka just because of this drink but haven't come close to duplicating the taste. Do you give out recipes for this mixed drink or is it proprietary information?

Hi Angelia
It is a great and simple cocktail to make at home. We use 6oz of Simply Lemonade and 2oz of our Cherry Vodka over a glass of ice! Enjoy

Have made many trips to Traverse City wineries and distilleries. Recently tried the Traverse City Cherry Whiskey and really liked it. The bottle says that it is bottled in Chelsea, Michigan. My daughter is getting married this summer and I'd like to know if this is available in 3 ounce bottles, similar to those for airlines as favors. She is getting married in California, but wants "Michigan" represented. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello
The product you are asking about is not made by Grand Traverse Distillery here in Traverse City. There is a company called Traverse City Whiskey Company that has a cherry whiskey, it is not made in Traverse City. You can contact them directly.
Cheers
