This distillery has its production facility south of the TC airport in an industrial park. Not a scenic spot but no problem finding a parking spot! They have a bar/store/tasting room downtown but that’s much more crowded. The advantage to this place is you can get a tour of the distillery and learn about how they make their products. Afterwards, you get 4 tastings and a shot glass as part of the package. The cherry vodka lemonade is outstanding! I bought a bottle of cherry vodka as a result! …

The location near downtown is not so large, but very fun and informative. Perfect for a cloudy day or any day, really. Happy and nice people inside to answer all your questions and teach you more about the distillery.

Bought a bottle of Ole George Straight Rye Whiskey In Mackinaw City last September 2019. I was impressed with the buttery Carmel notes and aroma I enjoyed at the store in Mackinaw City. However, when I opened the bottle at home it smelled like fresh mown grass. Even worse is when I took a sip and it tasted like I had a mouth full of fresh mown grass in my mouth. I hoped GTD would have offered to replace the bottle in case I happened to get a bad batch. But apparently they don’t care. After giving them 7 months to respond I decided it is time to review.…

We took a tour of the distillery and then stayed for a tasting afterwards. The tour guide was absolutely lovely and nice, she did a great job breaking down the process while also spreading the message of the hands on nature of the distillery (she’s an accountant, runs the tasting room, and helps bottle on occasion). Topping off the tour was the tasting and, while I can’t speak for the Voka or Gin as I’ve never been a huge fan of either, their selections of whiskey were delightful. I bought a bottle of their Ole George on my way out and will definitely be back for more.…

Hello Thanks for taking time to write your reveiw and your kind words. We are so luck to have Laura as she enjoys meeting our customers and taking care of them when they visit our tasting room at the distillery location. Also, thanks for your support of our spirits and I am happy you found something you enjoyed. Our Ole George Straight Rye is a unique product in that the mash bill is 100% rye grain. Cheers and come back soon. Kent
