My girlfriend and I had a great experience. We were forced to practice social distancing and the crew made that very clear. The boat was large with to make this possible, but still engage in conversation. The cruise was the full 2.5 hour length and was worth every penny.

Our group of about 10 people went on the 10am-noon cruise. It was a bit chilly so we sat in the back where we were safe from getting wet. You can also sit up front and choose to be splashed. The captains were fun and opened the bar as soon as we left the dock. The rum punch was delicious and well worth the money. I will definitely return for the sunset cruise!

Everyone should experience the NautiCat Cruise, it is a fantastic way to see the Bay. The staff is extremely friendly and they ensure you have a good time. The boat is massive so there is tons of room to spread out and enjoy the ride. No cruise is complete without a talented bartender and they definitely do not disappoint, both their house made margarita and rum cocktails (Catnip) are very good, and since you’re on a private boat the service will be faster than any bar or restaurant in TC, that alone is worth it! I can’t recommend activity enough, it’s great for friends, large parties, and even corporate outings.

We went in late June 2020 and did the champagne sunset cruise. Overall, the experience was pretty boring. If you're going with a group of friends and your idea of a fun time is chilling on a boat with some drinks and chatting, then this would probably be an experience you would enjoy (although live music would make it *much* more entertaining.) My husband and I aren't super into interacting with strangers, so we probably didn't "make the most of" the experience. We saw a couple sitting by themselves and not talking the entire time and they looked even more bored than we were. (Also, my husband was worried that he had dropped his wallet in the parking lot and was freaking out for practically the entire boat ride, and we had no money for drinks, so his mood was bad and he dampened my mood, so that probably had an impact on our feelings about the whole thing that had nothing to do with Nauti-Cat themselves. I think we would have enjoyed it more had the wallets not been forgotten. Soooo take this review with a small grain of salt, I guess.)

The catamaran basically just sat on the water due to little wind. Occasionally they turned the motor on so we could move somewhere else on the water, but it was pretty loud when it was on, and we weren't moving fast except for when the boat was going to shore. I was really hoping we would sail or ride at a brisk pace up and down near the shore so we could look at the houses and stuff, but we mostly stayed in the middle of the water, which was boring. I didn't care for the music being played, and I didn't see the crew interacting with anyone on the boat (unless it was while buying a drink). The only comfortable seating was on the nets at the front of the boat (which we did actually enjoy laying on). Everywhere else would have been hard and uncomfortable for the 2-hour ride.

There were drinks on tap available on the boat. My husband and I had forgotten our wallets, but when we explained our situation to the bar tender and that we had *just* gotten married a few days before, he spotted us a drink (in addition to the drink token I had pre-purchased, so we had 2 drinks to share) and wouldn't "let us" pay it back when we got back on shore and got our wallets. That same crew member also announced for us at the end that we had just gotten married (while doing the champagne toasts and asking who was there celebrating stuff), so that prompted tons of nice guests to give us congratulations and ask us about the wedding and honeymoon in the little time there was left on the ride, and we got some people to take pictures of us.

This was the perfect excursion for my husband and I while visiting Traverse City. We wanted to see the views from the lake and this was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not feel crowded and were able to Social Distance very comfortably. My husband had a few cocktails and said they were delicious and very fairly priced. The entire trip was well worth the money. We may be back next year to try the WindJammer trip.

The boat ride was surprisingly relaxing to me and it was exactly what we needed after a day of wine touring the say before. We went for the noon ride and it worked out perfect because it was long enough to relax and get your moneys worth but no too long to where it cuts into the rest of the day. So we were able to enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the beach and then still have our evening. The staff was friendly and helpful. They do have Covid restrictions that you have to follow which the website covers, the staff when booking, in the email confirmation and the staff communicates again before boarding the boat.
What they didn't do a great job on explaining is what to bring on the boat. Most would say it's common sense but if you're not used to going on a boat a "what to bring" page on the website would be helpful. For example, a towel or blanket to fold and sit on. There's not cushions to if you're sensitive to sitting on hard surfaces for long periods if time, you'll want to bring that. Dress for warm and cool weather. It was supposed to be hot while on the boat but we got hit with clouds and that tied with wind made it chilly. Didn't predict that. Duh! But that's where I think a helpful list could be handy. You can bring your own snacks, which is cool, and they do communicate that point. Also, if you want to sit in the cool hammock style nets, get there and be first in line because there's only two and they would fit a decent amount of ppl pre Covid. Other than that it was a cool experience. Not sure if I would go out of my way to do it again but if I was with a group that wanted to go, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Its not a bad price for 2 hours of water cruising.

This cruise is always very fun, relaxing, and scenic. I’ve been on several different cruises that Nauticat offers, happy hour is probably my fave. The crew is always very friendly!

I now live in San Diego, but always make time for this cruise when I visit family in the summer. This particular time, we decided to take a noon cruise and bring a couple of my grandkids, ages 4 and 6. The 4 year old brought 2 Barbie dolls on the boat, was playing in the net, when she tripped, and one Barbie went right into the drink! Captain Chris immediately stopped the boat, backed it up, and one crew member grabbed a net and scooped the doll up to return to the crying child. So kind!

We will be back next summer and go
again!

The boat, crew, sailing and scenery were perfect. Also the check in and loading was the easiest thing ever. The only reason I don’t give it a 5 ⭐️ is that it was advertised as 2 hours but was only 90 minutes. We still saw all we would want to see however

The winds were high and water was rough/white capping when we reached the dock. I have sailed before and I was a bit reserved about jumping on a boat in the waves we were seeing. Captain Chris greeted us and let us know that it was choppy but totally doable and safe. He gave us the option to back out. No one backed out. We got on board and Chris and his first mate Sam did a great job of keeping their cool and making the trip as good as it could be given the high seas. We tried the Cat Nip Rum Punch and all was good. By the end of the cruise the winds had calmed and it was a pretty sunset. They truly saved the trip. Some people got wet, one guy slipped and fell hard but was ok, but we all had fun. Chris saved the trip. He was personable and calm in the face of high winds and waves. I enjoyed the Bob Marley Pandora Playlist, discovered some new hits for the lake playlists. The whole thing was really good. For the weather, they did a good job and saved what could have easily been a cancelled trip. Most everyone was a bit scared and concerned given the look of the water when we arrived. I think everyone had fun. After your trip go inside the hotel lobby and lay down in the "quarter lodger" it's the most comfortable solid surface I've ever laid on. 5000 quarters and 25000 welds. Very cool piece of art. Great experience. We will be back with friends!

I was in Traverse City for a work conference, but my colleagues and I wanted to take a break and do something in the city so we scheduled the subset cruise. The day of our cruise was rainy and bleak. The rain let up just before the cruse was scheduled to start, only to start raining again and the bay was hazy. The crew at the Nauti-Cat asked what the guests going out what they wanted to do and we all agreed to give it a few more minutes. They brought us aboard and offered us a free drink while we waited. I felt they wanted to make sure we got the experience we purchased. Luckily the weather did let up and we were able to experience one of the last beautiful sunsets of the summer. I would definitely visit the Nauti-Cat again in the future!
