Spider is a relatively shallow lake which warms up quickly. There is a public boat launch at the south end and two islands open to the public. The island in the narrows towards the center of the lake has a fire pit and is a popular picnic/swimming spot. 👍🏻

Although our visit was in the fall, it was still very peaceful looking out over the lake. It was peaceful and calming.

a beautiful clear lake with sandy beaches -- the state park / small island and sand bar is a great place to hang out for the day

This lake is an all sports lake with great fishing. You can ski all day and fish the evening away. Plenty of cottages to rent, boat access and nice clear water to spend your time in, on and about.

This is a fun lake. Even though there are lots of residents that live on the Lake, it is one of the happening lakes in TC. There are three islands and one of them has a nice sandbar that everyone hangs out on. The fishing in the winter is good and they also do a snowmobile ice drag race in... More

All year long there are events out on the lake. In the summer you can fish, boat, swim, kayak, canoe, and so much more. In the winter you can ice fish and snowmobile as well as watch snowmobile races. There is always something fun to do and its not far from good food.

Good lake for wave runners or other trailered smaller boats. All sports lake. There's a free boat launch available to the public. There's private cabins available for rent. Area approximately 30 mins outside of downtown traverse city. Great location. Quiet and wooded.

The beach was OK, but the water was still ice cold. Good for visiting with the family and have a picnic party over there. It's good that there is a parking space.
