A RERUN WHICH WAS WORTH STOPPING AT.
Aug 2021
We reviewed this Winery two years previously but Wineries can change as the Wines they produce. Two years ago one of the owners was made Sake for the first time. Unfortunately at the time, all was sold. This time we tried the Sake ($22/bottle). I enjoyed it, it had a nutty taste and very smooth. Sake is acquired taste and not everyone would like it. As our usual case we tasted dry white and dry reds. The owner made it more interesting by including small food samples before you tasted the wine and after you had a sample and tasted. Amazing difference which help you understand pairings. These pairings are home made - raspberry pepper , riesling wine infused cheese etc. Overall we were please what we we tried and bought several bottles. They also have different vinegars available also. The owner suggested we go to the cheese shop down the block.

A Tecumseh must.

Stopped in again this year on our annual Tecumseh food crawl. As always we walked away with a case full after doing the tasting. Love the new sake. We like sweet wines and they always have many to chose from. Love the plum. Love the fireside. They are becoming too popular as they were out of a few dry ones we would have liked.

So Glad We Stopped
Nov 2019 • Couples
After passing through Tecumseh for years, we decided to stop in. We immediately received a friendly welcome. It was a Sunday and not busy at all, so we relaxed and enjoyed tasting the selection of wine. We ended up leaving with two bottles that were very resonably priced. The Plum Wine and The Morning Star.... we won't be passing by anymore! It will be a stop for sure! Thank you for your excellent service, hospitality and delicious wine.

This was our first time here. When we walked in we were immediately greeted. We had our daughter with us. The employee asked her if she would like to find the fairy door to get a surprise (candy). She enjoyed the search. Super nice and knowledgeable staff. Each tasting was paired with a dip/snack. I tried (3) wines, the plum being my favorite. We bought a bottle to ring home. Nice variety and presentation. It was $1.00 per tasting.

A small winery whose owner enjoys not only talking about but making wine
Jul 2019 • Couples
My wife and I stop yesterday morning 7/25 to do some wine testing. Dan Measel was in charge that day and was delightful in discussing his wines. Each of the wines are named after a Great Lakes Ship and has the history on the bottle's label. We are pretty open to wines as long as they are not too sweet or too grapey (concord/niagra/catabaw ). Pentamere gave us a tasting of 2 dry white and 3 red, almost sparkling dry type fruit wine and sake which they are starting to produce. Unfortunately I forgot to take a wine list so going off their website which doesn't show everything they make. We bought the Merlot and Cabernet. The others weren't bad, the Pinot Gris style Morning star was very minerally to my taste, Two of the red dry - one had a raspberry strong note while other had a blackberry note. The one which he was sold out but had a taste for us was the sake. I have drank sake in Asia and US but his sake was the best I have had. My wife who usually turns her nose up and the smell of sake also enjoyed it. We wanted to hit a couple of more wineries in the area and Dan gave suggestions based on what we seemed to like.

Pretty good place for Great Lakes wines
Jul 2019 • Couples
So, Pentamere's schtick is that they make wines from grapes that are in any of the Great Lakes watersheds. That opens a lot of territory to draw from. Think of it . . . there are so many areas for grapes. SW Michigan to the Niagra-on-the-Lake area in Ontario. We tasted a dry white (good), dry Rosé (again, good), and a couple of reds (the Cabernet was really good). In addition to wines, they also have a small shop that sells spices, oils, posters, and such. It's a nice place to visit in town. Our host was knowledgeable and friendly. Pentamere surely deserves a return visit.

Plum Wine !!!
Jun 2019 • Couples
Stopped at Pentamere Winery in Tecumseh for a Sunday afternoon, Every wine we tasted was fantastic. The Plum wine is a secret gem of the bunch, the Fireside (warm) wine was also outstanding. If your near Tecumseh you have to stop here.

Hidden Gem
Jun 2018 • Friends
Hidden Gem in downtown Tecumseh. The staff is incredibly friendly and super passionate about their wine. They suggest pairings and let you sample both wine and accompaniments. The Cherry wine and Plum wine are two of my favorites. I went home with their new blush and am not at all disappointed. Great summer wine. I will make a point to stop here every time I can!
