- Rhonda PriceLisbon, Portugal5 contributionsPark West Hits it Out of the Park Every Time!I have found my experiences with Park West to be amazing in every way. I first attended their art auctions while on a Norwegian cruise to Alaska in July. My husband and I bought 7 pieces of artwork and were pleased with how the staff went out of their way to make the experience wonderful. I have read mixed reviews about how some people never received their artwork on time or that it wasn’t the art they purchased. We were given a timeframe of “up to four months” and all 7 pieces arrived in perfect condition in less than two months. Every piece was expertly packed and there was no damage. The frames were also perfect and stunning! Based on this, we were invited to an online auction and purchased three Lebo paintings. Once again, all arrived and were in perfect condition. Recently we attended a VIP event, which was an all-expenses paid trip to Nashville. This was also an amazing experience where we were able to meet the artists and enjoy great meals and entertainment with other couples. We bought 4 additional pieces for our collection and won another at a raffle. So far we have been absolutely delighted with Park West in every way. We read all contracts and invoices carefully and there are no problemsHi Rhonda, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We appreciate your kind words and look forward to seeing you at future events!Written February 5, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 4, 2024
- Dennis W2 contributionsPark West Gallery Purchase on Princess CruiseI had initially given a bad review since the customer representative on the phone was not being helpful at all when I first contacted Park West. After a few email exchanges with their senior rep, they were extremely helpful and understanding. We were able to cancel an item from the purchase although they currently do not have a cancellation policy. The art works they sell are amazing, but you have to realize that all sales are "final" as they had mentioned several times in the auction. I immediately contacted their customer care after getting off of the ship and they were able to process the cancellation since it was still within their grace period. Please note that there will be a 15% deduction from your refund and you will get that back as future bidding/purchase credit with Park West. Overall, I'm happy with their services and the products that they sell. Just remember to read their terms on the contract before signing.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 3, 2024
- Robert H1 contributionGood Parkwest Gallery customer serviceI’m writing to comment on Parkwest Gallery customer service. Lately Parkwest Gallery customer service does not get a lot of love, but I’m here to change that. We have purchased several paintings over the years from Parkwest Gallery and have had issues with some of them. I would like to report that Parkwest Gallery have resolved all of my issues to my satisfaction. You may not want to have a problem with a brand new painting you purchased, but it is nice to know that their customer service will take care of you. I would especially like to thank Angela Morales, one of my most recent interactions with Parkwest customer service. Angela did a fantastic job of keeping me informed and providing the updates as things progressed. She also went one step above anyone else by sending in the email after my print was shipped to me to make sure I received it. I want to make sure everyone knows that all of the reps I’ve dealt with so far have been great.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 23, 2024
- Mike D1 contributionOnly the bestParkWest isn’t one of the standards in collecting fine art by the greatest artists, they are thee standard. Millions and millions of extremely happy collectors planning to return again. Reading some of these reviews makes me cringe. I guess if you’re really happy as “almost” all ParkWest collectors are, you don’t need to tell everybody online about it. There is a reason this unbelievably massive art company has been in business for 70 years. Not going anywhere.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 30, 2024
- Antania MSydney, Australia8 contributionsPotentially reducing Park West buyers on Aussie CruisesWe have bought multiple times from Park West on Carnival over 2022/2023 and now 2024, well over $100k. Our experience has always been amazing. The Gallery staff onboard are always polite friendly and wonderful, they make the auctions fun, they get to know you and many of them we have become friends off the cruise keeping in touch. Customer service was amazing when one of our recent pieces arrived broken/damaged. We were able to return it and have in replaced/fixed and this was done with a quick turn around. Our current cruise has been no exception to the quality and friendliness with this new gallery crew. This is where the but is. As we are now VIP collectors, this current back to back cruise we are on, we have received invites to 3 different online events via email. The deals at these events are phenomenal, spend $x amount and receive the same value in collectors cash. Here is where we are not happy. We are planning on spending quite a bit this cruise, but now after receiving these invites wondering what the point is spending on a cruise, when we can get better deals by attending the online events. We are now in a bit of a conundrum because we know the beautiful staff are also commissioned base and receiving emails like this undermines the work they do as well as their salaries. We are now considering not purchasing any art this cruise and instead attending the online VIP event so we can access these better benefits. Which is a shame because here in Australia, it will reduce the boats regular cruise buyers (every cruise we have bought). Having access to this deals for VIP guests onboard boats could help improve Park West in Australia.Good Morning, Antaniam, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We would love to discuss further. Please send your contact information to us at PWGReviews@parkwestgallery.com and we will be sure to forward your file to our executive team to look further into this for you!Written May 3, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 2, 2024
- Paradise151834114131 contributionRemember To Enjoy every minute of your cruise!!I have bought many pieces from Park West Galleries, I have to say that it's in the eyes and heart of the beholder on buying art on a vacation. It's the thrill of it. The enjoyment of it. Yes, it's probably not worth what you pay for it, but was the drink package or the excursions really worth the money either. Have fun. Don't take your frustrations out after the fact. There are aways hidden charges even though they are all in plain sight. even the cruise lines hit you up with charges, after the fact. It's an auction, an art auction, not a break the bank art auction, it's a enjoy your time out at sea. REMEMBER you are in charge of what you buy, what you do, and what you spend. Just have fun and don't look back at it as a mistake once you are home. You will probably enjoy that art if you don't investigate it after you buy it. Enjoy it. Sorry, I actually love the Park West crew on these ships, sailing this August and plan on being at the auctionsVisited June 2023Traveled soloWritten May 11, 2024
- Marina P4 contributionsFor art looking or art buying!I absolutely love art, but I’m on a budget. On a whim, I went into this gorgeous gallery in Southfield, had a delightful conversation with a kind and knowledgeable art seller. She helped me find a stunning piece that fit perfectly within my budget! Now, I have a beautiful artwork on my wall that I get to show off to my family and friends.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten September 5, 2024

On 29th December 2019 whilst on board Carnival Spirit, I made a purchase at the art auction of a piece for which I paid $2040AUD which was to be shipped in up to six weeks. On the 7th February 2020, I made my first enquiry via email as to the status. I was advised I would need to reply via the registered email which I did. I sent my second email 10th February and again 11th and 12th February with no response. I followed up again 27th February and received a response on 29th February from stating that the artwork was on back order and that they didn’t know when it would be available and after the mention of lodging a complaint, I was offered a full refund which I accepted on 28th February.
On 12th March I was advised that my original payment would be refunded within 1-2 billing cycles and when I replied to the email to find out how long the billing cycle was, both the email address from which I had received advice from have been blocked.
This is a major concern and quite alarming. That is in excess of $2000 of my money tied up in a gallery which evidently did not have the product in the first place for three months, possibly five or months and are now not contactable.
This is very distressing, particularly at this time. I believe they have been holding my funds hostage and it is increasingly looking like I have been ripped off. I was told that delivery could take up to six weeks and have since learned that the item was never available in the first place and there is no way to contact this organisation. I have tried social media contact portals, every related email address I can find and contacted the cruise line but not a single response.
Since I have relayed this information to a number of friends and colleagues and I am learning of similar experiences of people not receiving what they paid for or never seeing their purchased item at all.

We are regular cruisers and attend your art auctions when there isn't a schedule clash. We have purchased 7 pieces of art over the years and enjoy each one of them in our home. I am sure Park West has done multiple surveys and market analysis that has determined the your best price points for the auctions and the VIP clients are very important. Yet I enjoyed when you offered less expensive lithographs for new collectors, or even for myself that wanted a colorful landscape somewhere in the house. It's rare to find a nice piece, framed for anywhere under $1.200 - 1,500. Your staff is friendly and knowledgeable, yet, perhaps too often, if I sat up in my chair, I'd have someone next to me giving me 'encouragement'. I taught sales techniques in the past and while it's valuable to invite a client to make a purchase, I enjoy a little more freedom, at least while sitting in my seat. And, if you're going to promote champagne throughout the auction, which the head auctioneer did on more than one occasions, have it available. I am not looking for a constant stream of it, but over 90 - 120 minutes, a refill would be appreciated.
Overall, we enjoy the auctions and opportunity to enhance the decor in our home and learn a few things about the artists and the art world. The pieces we purchased are enjoyed and the artworks we weren't able to afford/agree upon we can live with as well.

What a wonderful way to become familiar with artists’ work, choose an artist who’s work speaks to
You, learn about collecting, attend sessions on the masters, and enjoy time with fellow art lovers at gatherings hosted and joined by the very friendly, knowledgeable auctioneer and art experts from Park West Gallery. There are so many options to purchase quality art at a fraction of the price elsewhere. Park West has AMAZING framing options, perhaps the best anywhere! They also offer financing with no interest over timed payments AND a 50/50/50 guarantee! We are now avid collectors and bordering addiction to Park West when we cruise!

We purchased two paintings from Park West at an art auction on a cruise ship. We made it clear to the sales person for Park West that we wanted matching frames for the two paintings but the pewter color instead of the gold and bronze frames that were displayed on the ship. He said that would be no problem and he would take care of it. When the artwork was delivered they were in the same unmatched frames that were displayed on the cruise ship. It has been over two weeks since we notified Park West that there was a problem. They said they would look into it, but we have heard nothing further from them.
For the amount of money that they charge for artwork, I would expect more effort at customer satisfaction. I have come to the conclusion that they are the timeshare sales version of the art world. I would not buy from them again, and would recommend that others beware.

These auctions just theatrics to try to hype buyers, you pick what your interested in, they action it to the single buyer at the pre-determined non negotiable retail price.
After their action they had us come back to finalize the transaction, during this time my wife tried to ask some questions, but the auctioneer was hand gesturing to the assistant behind my wife's back with his finger spinning in the air to hurry up, hurry up. He stopped after he realized I saw him doing it, very un-professional.

I attend my first Park West Gallary auction on the Royal Carribean Independence of the Seas last month and while I am not a big spender compared to those around me, did purchase artwork and found the whole thing fascinating. I would definitely attend again and when in a better position financially, may even consider bigger works of art. Everyone was very professional throughout the experience and it really is quite something the amount folks spend on art. I learned so much about art in the process which was worth the "free" price of admission and glass of champagne. I would recommend that everyone experience this at least once in their life if not more. I an see how you can easily start collecting after attending your first one! The artwork shipped and was at my house less than 2 weeks after the cruise and much quicker than I anticipated.

We just finished our cruise on Adventure of the Seas with Royal Caribbean and Pieter Van Schalkwyk was the auctioneer for Park West. He was extremely knowledgeable and very willing to answer any questions and we had lots of them! His whole team was wonderful to work with. Obviously, we ended up purchasing more artwork because we fell in love with several pieces. Thank you Pieter, Vikki, Sergio, Briony and all the others for a fun time! Hope you are on our of our next cruises!

Scam
I purchased a piece of Kinkade art on a carnival ship for $1300 framed and shipped.
When I got home I found the same piece direct from Kinkade studios framed and shipped for $800.
They state that their “auction” prices are supposed to be better than market value. They just take advantage of people not having internet whilst bidding on artwork.
Never again will I deal with this company.

My experience with Park West on my cruise is to run, and don't look back... They push art work and they give you "a deal" and then bate and switch you. they show you framed pieces and then charge you for the framing and don't give you the credits that you are supposed to get and play games. we were on Allure of the Seas and dealt with Snow and all she cared about was selling us a Peter Max. There are alot of places to purchase art from, you are better off going else where

Cruised on NCL and walk by Gallery area and learned about auction, had never been before. All the people were exceptional; Shari Hutton, Cherene Dublessis, Imran Shaikh were very knowledgeable and friendly. The auctioneer, Chris Vounnoy was enertaining, informative and enjoyed his auctions. Katherine Moreno was the most helpful to us during auction and afterwards choosing frames with all the purchases we made. Everyone remembered our names all during the cruise and would definately love to work with them again. I would recommend you try the auction when on a cruise, they also have informative sessions on different artist during the cruise as well.
