Prince Edward Island seems to be covered in lighthouses. This one is rather unique with its black and white stripes. The lighthouse itself is closed and there is an inn that operates there now. There is a boardwalk and a pleasant beach - with signs warning of poison ivy.

We spend three nights here in July it was absolutely fantastic! Rooms are very clean and spacious and the have an awesome balcony that we watched the sun set on every night over the ocean!! A truly amazing experience. Continental breakfast was good very typical of what you would get anywhere else. Ocean front so you can swim and explore... More

Nice place to go and have a view of beach Perfect place for taking photo as well The lighthouse is not allowed to go inside. However, you can walk around and chill out. There are some parking lots before you reach the lighthouse.

This is a great place. The hosts were very nice. My only complaint is that you need to show up early, before 8pm to understand they don't have a dining room for dinner and the local restaurant is open to 8pm. If you show up late, don't expect to find dinner anywhere close by. Note though, that this is typical... More

The lighthouse was nice to see but the beach was beautiful. Lots of rocks and shells for the kids to collect. Sadly it was very cold so we only walked the beach.

We made a stop here to check out the views. Of course, not open as too early in season. Really picturesque, got some nice pics! Hope to get back some time......

It was a bit tedious to climb to the top with the kids (my 3 year old is, apparently, afraid of heights...). But the view is spectacular from up there. Plan about 30 min, it doesn't take that long to go around.

Visited late afternoon on a sunny September day. There were warnings posted about poison ivy, but this didn't deter us from swimming in the sea - it was unbelievably warm. The lighthouse forms a great backdrop to the beach. It is well maintained, and the beach is clean. Recommended.

The sunset and the forever red beach is amazing. This is worth the drive. The climb was not bad a the small museum was worth it. One of our favorites of PEI. Will be back.

It's quite something to see the red sand beaches on PEI, and you get right next to them at the lighthouse. We didn't stay there, or go in to the building, but there was plenty of parking, without the annoying signs that say they are for hotel guests only. We stayed a brief period, got a few pictures, and played... More
