Picturesque location

Visited the lighthouse and the beach. Water was warm, the lighthouse is a great backdrop. I'm not sure I'd go too far out of my way, unless you are a real lighthouse lover.

The history of the West Point lighthouse and its restoration is fascinating and inspiring. Especially given that it overlooks the part of the coast where legends of buried treasures, ghostly galleons and sea monsters abounds. The human stories are an especial and heart warming feature of the lighthouse displays. Many of the original lighthouse furnishings are on display. While we... More

I've never been in an actual lighthouse before. Very nice experience. Total of 3 sets of stairs. The last set are steep steps almost ladder like getting to the top. Going down is best if you turn around and descend like you are going down a ladder. I don't like heights but I made it. Makes me have respect for... More

We travelled an hour out of our way just to climb the lighthouse and I had checked their website before travelling, it said open in June, so off we went. Got to the lighthouse and a sign on the door saying it wasn't open till week later and we were only on the Island for a week. Very frustrating.

Prince Edward Island seems to be covered in lighthouses. This one is rather unique with its black and white stripes. The lighthouse itself is closed and there is an inn that operates there now. There is a boardwalk and a pleasant beach - with signs warning of poison ivy.

Nice place to go and have a view of beach Perfect place for taking photo as well The lighthouse is not allowed to go inside. However, you can walk around and chill out. There are some parking lots before you reach the lighthouse.

This is a great place. The hosts were very nice. My only complaint is that you need to show up early, before 8pm to understand they don't have a dining room for dinner and the local restaurant is open to 8pm. If you show up late, don't expect to find dinner anywhere close by. Note though, that this is typical... More

The lighthouse was nice to see but the beach was beautiful. Lots of rocks and shells for the kids to collect. Sadly it was very cold so we only walked the beach.

We made a stop here to check out the views. Of course, not open as too early in season. Really picturesque, got some nice pics! Hope to get back some time......

It was a bit tedious to climb to the top with the kids (my 3 year old is, apparently, afraid of heights...). But the view is spectacular from up there. Plan about 30 min, it doesn't take that long to go around.
