The inventory is great! Pleasantly surprized at the orderliness and lack of mustiness in the used book area. Great prices; allow plenty of time to browse. Lots on the geographic area.

All kinds of hand made crafts and curiosities. Like an inside 'Art Fair.' Les Townsend is a wealth of information and happy to share. He recommended local restaurants and sites. He is a one man Chamber of Commerce. This is a must stop for tourists, art lovers, and treasure hunters.

This is a fun little shop. They have well priced used books, and local works of art. My favorite thing was the little shop kitty that the owner lets hang out. He was also nice to chat with, and made sure to enquirer if I need any information on the area.

I was really happy to find an independent bookstore on a recent trip to the Soo. It's a nice size store offering used and new books and a large area of crafts, soap, food, and artwork. Please visit to keep small businesses open. The owner was very friendly and helpful with local recommendations.

My family and I stopped into the store in mid-June, while vacationing across the U.P. I spotted the store as we drove through town, and immediately had to stop. Am I glad I did!
The proprietor welcomed us warmly, and told many great tales as we browsed around. I had been looking for a particular novel set in Michigan, and found it on his shelves. As we discussed the book a bit, he recommended another author--Michigan native Joseph Heywood--and a few of his books. I bought them, and am just now...in September...sitting down to read the suggested books. I am only 118 pages in, and I love it!!!
This is what a bookstore should be--warm, inviting, and run by someone with a love and passion for what they do. I barely glanced at the craft items, although I bought some, and never made it downstairs at all. Next trip, maybe?

Love this store because it features local artisans and craftspersons works. You can find everything from "kitsch" to fine art. The bookstore has expanded and they have an excellent selection of local interest books. Definitely worth a stop!

Interesting local craft items at reasonable prices. Good selection of used books. In the basement, put as many books as you can in a 5-gallon bucket and pay $3 - would be a great deal to get reading material for kids.
