You can have a beach day for $8 - a bargain. There are nice facilities. We brought rafts which was fun, but swimming was also fun. We climbed Mt. Baldhead - a work out and ran down. You can go for a long walk along the shore. A picnic lunch and card game made the day complete. Lots of families... More

Get there early, find a spot close to the shore and away from the parking lots. This place fills up fast! We arrived at 10 a.m. and by 11 it was packed. If you're looking for a quiet day at the beach, forget this place. Now, did get me wrong, Lake Michigan beaches in the summer (especially when it's 90)... More

Famous Michigan beach reviewed in multiple well known travel magazines as a "do not miss" visit - and they are right. Beautiful water (74 degrees when we were there), cool sand, and picturesque dunes and sea grasses. Lots of amenities, and at night, sunsets that rival Key West. Beautiful!

We paid $8 to see a stunning sunset. Good news for the other 50 cars after because they were free. They only charge until 845pm!!!

Very clean public beach, extremely busy during the summer months. My wife and I arrived around 10:30am, when we decided to pack up and leave at 12:30 there was a line up the hill to get in. Admission was $8 per car.

This beach deserve all the accolades it gets, We were there on a beautiful afternoon and it was very busy, but still more than enough room to enjoy the lake michigan water and the sandy beach. We settled in an area a little to the north of the main spots, which had less noisy children, only sacrifice is that is... More

We visited Oval Beach during a short getaway to Saugatuck. We were so surprised at how clean it was. I'm glad we got there in the morning to find parking and a spot near the water, by the afternoon it was really full! It was such a treat to find such a nice beach!

We went when the water was 54 degrees so it is hard to rate the swimming. The sand was soft between your toes, it was fun to walk down, see the waves and the sky over the lake. Wonderful experience

Surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes, Michigan has more than its share of wonderful beaches. Oval Beach is probably one of the smaller beaches, but the view of the beach from up on the bluff is wonderful. The park amenities are located above the beach - swings for the kids, picnic tables and grills, restrooms and a snack... More
