Beautiful mellow cruise on the top deck with a bar and very kind crew. Some good narration but not too much. A very pleasant experience for my wife and I I don’t know why this isn’t rated much higher in the TripAdvisor things to do in saugatuck. It’s number 22!!!!! Why?

Have gone on this boat a number of times. Kind of disappointed to see higher prices. Sunset cruise, to us was not worth paying $20 more each. It would be more interesting if captain had more narration about different homes and sights along the way. It was still so relaxing and great to get out to the lake. Drinks and small snacks available while onboard. Cant plan ahead for tickets, only take same day reservations.

We arrived right before the 7pm cruise, with a party of 13. Had talked to them on the phone and they said it would not be busy, so we took our chances as walkups! There were only four other customers so we basically had the whole boat to ourselves. We paid for upper-deck seats, but did go below (where it is heated) by the end to warm up. Crew was lovely. Captain did a nice job narrating, but it is a little hard to hear, so ask to be seated under a speaker if you want to hear everything. When visiting a town that is built on a waterway, I try to make sure to take a boat tour because it's like seeing the front of the house as opposed to the back door! The ride exposed me to lots of Saugatuck I would not have otherwise seen! It is pricey, so I was hesitant to give a large tip, which I normally do because I have a big family, and have upped my tipping game since the pandemic. Bring cash if you want drinks or snacks. Wear jackets and bring blankets as it can get cool and breezy. Slow and safe. Appropriate for all ages.

Called for same day tickets. It was $58 a piece (even for kids) for a 90 minute ride. But, the sky was clear and no rain forecast, so we thought we'd splurge and take the sunset cruise. They told us to make sure to arrive early because they don't wait on people who are late. There was no parking anywhere close to the place, which was frustrating and they had no tourist maps of the area so we could figure out where to go prior to the cruise. Then they waited until the time the cruise was supposed to have departed to let us board. By the time the cruise got underway, clouds rolled in and there was no sunset. It was also quite cold. So, we got hammered on the $34.00 gift shop blanket and whatever my husband paid for two hot chocolates on board. There was no commentary on the sunset cruise. Just a trip down the river, turn around on the lake and back the same way we came. Almost everyone was huddled down on the lower deck where it was standing room only.

For starters, we like to plan ahead when on a trip and make reservations well in advance so we know that we will be able to do the things we want to do and won't have unexpected disappointments. This company however, will only sell same day tickets for their cruises, so you have no idea if you will be able to get tickets or not until that day. You also had to take time out of your traveling to stop and buy tickets. They assigned seats to each party, but after take off everyone got up and moved to other tables that suited them better and no one was told to move back, so what was the point. The strangest thing about this cruise, is that they will not let you board until a couple of minutes before the boat departs and will NOT sell any beverages, especially alcohol until after the boat departs. We have been on hundreds of cruises all over and have NEVER encountered such a ridiculous policy. Most boats want you to board half and hour before the cruise so they can sell you drinks. Do they not realize they are missing out on hundreds of dollars in sales before each cruise because they won't open the bar until after take-off?????????? Several other passengers besides myself were quite disappointed to not be able to get a drink when it was cocktail time. They have a VERY poor selection of beer and mostly carry local brands that no one wants. I decided to try the Bloody Mary as none of the other options appealed to me. Surprisingly, it was very good. As far as the cruise goes, we spent more time on the inland lake than normal as the seas were too rough to take the boat out onto Lake Michigan, which was a disappointment and would have made for a better cruise. They need a better PA system. You could only hear half the commentary from the back of the boat.
