Mackinac Bridge History Cruise

45 reviews
View one of the world's largest suspension bridges from a unique vantage point on a boat tour from Mackinac Island. The short cruise covers more than 100 years of history through illumining live narration on Native American folklore, local shipwrecks, and the history of the 5-mile bridge. Along the way, pass by famous landmarks including Old Mackinac Point Light and Fort Michilimackinac.

Nice trail and views of bridge! I needed to buy a recreation passport, the attendant was very helpful, it was a smooth and easy transaction. Trail was in great condition, less one sign being out of the ground, wonderful bridge views!

Awesome park. Since we have a big rig, we’ve shied away from state parks, expecting them to be too rustic and cramped for our rig. Not so here. This park is spacious and well maintained with paved roads that provide plenty of room to maneuver our 40’ motor home. Since it’s popular, we felt lucky to get a 30-amp, electric only site for 4 nights on short notice, but some sites offer more utilities. There are 2 dump stations, and potable water is available to fill up if you need it. Our site was a grassy, large, level pull through with a gravel parking pad, fire ring, and picnic table. There is no WiFi, but we had good T-mobile signal and used our hotspots. There are lots of trails for walking, 2 viewing platforms with great views of the Mackinac bridge (one ADA accessible), access to the lakefront, and tons of picnic areas. We hope to be able to reserve a site next year for a longer stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay. The campground facilities were nice and well maintained. Staff was wonderful. We stayed in lower west and had excellent views in both our sites. Due to the weather we decided to cancel our next plans and stay a couple more nights. We wished we could have stayed at our first site, but it was booked. The 2nd site, 77a, had a great view but wasn't great for tent camping. We didn't realize the whole site was in a lower spot and woke to a lot of mud after a full night off rain. Other than that, it was wonderful and we will be back.
