    Great view!
This was definitely worth the $1 fee to climb to the top. The views were great! The Paul Bunyan & Babe statues have become a roadside tradition for our family as we've seen a few in our travels. Of course, we bought our traditional postcards and a couple of other items from the gift shop. Our kids also added a pressed penny to their collection.

    Do it, it’s tradition!
The perfect slice of Americana cheese. Only $1 is all it costs to drag your out of shape after 4 months of pandemic body up the stairs to a beautiful view of the surrounding area. And don’t forget to take your picture with a masked Paul Bunyan. Your calves will forgive you in a few days, but you won’t forgive yourself if you pass this by.

    Can't go Wrong for $1
Admission is only $1! For that price you can't go wrong if you're looking for something quick and interesting. The Paul Bunyan statue makes a cute picture. Then you make a climb up a LOT of stairs, but the view makes it worth it. The view from the top is panoramic and you can see for mules. Very interesting viewpoint. The gift shop at the bottom is also the best I've seen with a very wide and unique selection of things all fairly priced. Honestly going for the gift shop alone wouldn't be a bad idea.

The road to get there from town is a little confusing (you have to cross an Interstate exit ramp)
From the outside, it appears to be the stereotypical tourist trap
The fee to climb the stairs to the top is $1...well worth it.
The climb is strenuous...I don't believe it is ADA accessible (but I could be wrong about that).
The view from the top is well worth the climb...Lake Huron in one direction, and a big forest in the other.
Overall a worthwhile experience

This was my 2nd time visiting. I still enjoyed it. It needs to be upkept better- the rails are getting old. Still breath-taking view from the top. It would be nice to give a little history of the making of the bridge to stand on the outer part or a little info about it. Right now you just go, walk up it, look out at the beautiful view and go back down and buy things in the gift shop. The shop does have some very unique gifts and their prices are actually reasonable.

We climbed all the steps up to the top just for that beautiful view. It's a well spent dollar-cheaper than joining your local ymca. Another must stop on a trip up north. Kids are getting old enough to beat the parents as we now need to utilize the resting spots to sit and catch our breath,

Castle rock in saint Ignace, Michigan just across the bridge heading north is well worth the 1.00 it cost to hit the top. My first time at castle rock not knowing there are 207 steps, yes you read that right 207 steps to the top. Well worth the climb, indeed. You can see the mighty Mac from atop castle rock. Don’t worry benches are placed along the way to stop and rest which I had to do twice. Not a bad way to spend a buck. The view is pure Michigan

As we were trekking up to the top, my husband jokingly asked someone on the way down if the view was worth the climb. He shrugged and said “not really.” He was right. But for such a nominal entrance fee ($1), it’s not like they are making money hand over fist for a disappointing attraction. The people in the gif shop could not have been nicer.

It was fun, but if you've done other things in the UP, this may not be as breath taking as if you haven't already done several... You walk through a gift shop, spend $1 pp and walk up about 200 steps (or so). It's quick and easy and a nice view. We had already done several that were better, so this was just another tall tower, but you had to look across the road vs just pure water. If you're there, it's worth doing.
Also, if you need some Michigan souvenirs, this gift shop is among the most economical we found!

I went here when I was a child and brought my son 30 years later. It’s a must stop for the UP, but the climb is not for the unfit. The stairs are steep and it’s a long climb. There were some heavier people on the stairs who were having a hard time, but the kids will love it. The gift shop has some hilarious T-shirts.

These private land owners took a beautiful piece of nature, trashed it, & turned it into a kitsch theme park all for a buck. Picture it… tacky gift shop… tacky Paul Bunyan statue… then, climb barbed-wire lined steps to the top where they have concrete paved over the top of this beautiful rock, & placed their tacky tourist sign on top. THE VIEWS are the ONLY nice thing about this place, but the rock itself is covered in coins & trash. Just an example of humans doing their worst.

You can get a nice picture from the parking lot, but it's so worth it to pay $1 to walk to the top! We were concerned about 171 steps, but there are benches and it wasn't bad at all! View from the top is worth it! Very nice gift shop with restrooms! They also sell bags of ice for $2. Staff very friendly! We're old, 71 and 62 and it only took about 45 minutes round trip and that includes staying on top and enjoying for a while!

Discovered this while doing research for a family trip and glad I found it. I'll Admit I wasn't expecting quite as many stairs but it was worth it in the end. The view from the top was worth all the pain and gain up the stairs and the $1 admission fee. :)
