Lovely little boardwalk along the shore with view of the island and the ferries going back and forth. The town was quiet when we visited at the end of August so the walk was peaceful. Eat at the sandwich truck across the street in the big gravel parking lot. Great food, good folks.

We accessed the lighthouse through the Huron Boardwalk right next to the Wawatam Park. The park has beautiful flowers, benches, sundial and a bell to ring. The lighthouse is very photogenic and does not take a bad picture. It is still a working lighthouse.

Large parking lots near and less than 3/10 mile walk to the lighthouse. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

We parked at the far end and walked all of the way down to the Antique store. At this far end is a small playground. We stopped at the Lighthouse and took in the views. There are several benches to stop and sit at. In the area by the Lighthouse there is a neat sun clock to stand on. Your shadow points to the time of day. There was a water fountain for kids to play in with a picnic table nearby. The boardwalk will take you into the shopping area. We stopped at several of the shops along the way. There are public bathrooms at the visitor center and another down the road.

The Boardwalk is fairly short and straight...it appears to be well maintained.
There are a few amenities (some benches and a water spout).
The walk ends at the lighthouse (which wasn't open)
Overall worth a little time to walk it.

It's very nicely located attraction with great view and beautiful lighthouse at the end.
Walking through, you can learn about "mooring dolphins".
It's a great spot for taking photos.
I recommend it.

I was only in the part by Wawatam Park and Lighthouse, but it was very nice.

Gave great views of Lake Huron, plus it was easy to walk.

Not any rough areas.

Definitely something nice to do if you enjoy walking by the water.

Stopped as we were in the city and wanted to take the dog for a walk. In the Saint Ignace book it is rated as top 15 in the country. I don’t know which country they were surveying but they only maintain a small portion of it so we were highly disappointed as they talked it up. So many weeds growing out of it and it stops and starts in various locations. Just walk it by the main water area, forget the rest. If your a boardwalk enthusiast, don’t bother. They need to take their rating out of the book and just list it as something to do. I’ve been on so many nicer boardwalks in my life.

Shoreline isn’t as rocky as American Legion Beach but both are filled with goose poop. Realize it’s nature but some sort of clean up schedule would be nice.

My wife and I liked the Boardwalk and the several places to stop and sit, like across the street from the ice cream shop.

Gorgeous area. There's a small swimming beach that looked like it would have been fun, but we didn't have suits with us. A few restaurants across the street.
