    Inspiring!
Always Inspiring! I have crossed the bridge many times over the years, and it is a wonderful experience. If you have a chance to go across it in one of the open air trolley cars, that is a unique experience, too. Driving yourself is fun, but being able to observe your surroundings is better. There is so much to do in Michigan, and this bridge gives us access to the most beautiful part of Michigan, the Upper Peninsula. If you have the time, browse through some of my other reviews, and you’ll see reviews about all places throughout the UP. My favorite part of Michigan is the Munising area. If you don’t have much time, though, there is a lot to do in St. Ignace . Be sure to drive into the town itself and have breakfast at Java Joe’s. That is the best place for a pleasant stop and a chance to meet some Michigan locals.

Beautiful near and from a far
Beautiful bridge with scenic views as you are driving over it. It’s a magnificent view it self from afar. It is a $4 toll to cross the bridge and it takes 5-7 minutes by car. When traveling to Mackinac Island, the fairy has certain times where you can go under the bridge on the way to the island. i’ve also done the bridge walk in the past and that was well worth it.

    Fun times.
We had a really enjoyable time on the bridge. We actually got stuck on the bridge for about an hour because traffic was atrocious and we really enjoyed our time. We got a very very good view of the arches and took a really good picture. You could feel the bridge bouncing, but it was kind of fun, on our way back into Mackinac the bridge was flowing smooth. The attendance both there and back we’re amazing and friendly.

This Bridge is a Marvel in Engineering!
Once in everyone’s lifetime, they should cross the Mackinac Bridge! This bridge is an engineering marvel for sure! It was raining the day we crossed going south. It would have been much more enjoyable to cross this magnificent bridge on a blue sky sunny day! Today, contraction on the bridge made it traffic move a little more slowly.

    the Mighty Mac!
We love driving across the Mighty Mac! In the morning, we had a beautiful sunny day and gorgeous views. That night, we recrossed in the rain and the dark with all the pretty lights. (I know they are not for decoration, but they do look nice.) It's only $4 to cross the Bridge, which is less than a dollar a mile!

    Concern for the bridge
The Mackinaw bridge is a real treasure. It is one of Michigan's most awe inspiring experiences. It's story and history are incredible. That is why it concerns me that traffic backup on the bridge is allowed. It seems like an unnecessary abuse of the bridge. Toll booths for northbound traffic should be on the southside of the bridge. Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem like that hard of a problem to fix. If we really want the bridge to last a 1000 years, let's do our part and solve this issue.

Beautiful structure but they could improve logistics
We drove across the bridge on a Saturday afternoon. We’d researched this bridge and not seen warnings about traffic but wow. It took us an hour and 35 minutes to cross. The backup started before the bridge and lasted the entire 5 mile length. It seems like the tolls booth should be on the south side of the bridge (we were going north) and that a fast pass or some system could speed it up because it sure was frustrating. The bridge itself is beautiful - both the structure itself and the views from it (we had plenty of time to stare at them). Definitely worth viewing and crossing but be aware of the potential for long delays while crossing. Toll to cross was $4.

    Mackinac Bridge Walk
Seven close friends decided to walk the 65th annual Mackinac Bridge Walk, always held on Labor Day. Along with 37,000 other people, this is is only day you can walk across the bridge, which is part of the North Country Trail. Bridge closes to traffic at 7:00am, re-opening at 12 noon. The bridge sways rather strongly due to the thousands of people walking in unison!

    Long Lasting with a View
My family and I traveled over the bridge on a road trip. We traveled West from East and it was beautiful! The scenic road has so many stops to get out and enjoy Lake Michigan. You get excited as you see the bridge approaching. It's a LONG bridge! If you have a fear of water, it's very safe but just be prepared. All you see is Lake Michigan to the south and Lake Heron to the north. We all enjoyed the view!

We had to wait a while for everyone to get off the bridge since it was Walk the Bridge Day. The toll is collected when you go from North to South. If heights bother you stay on the outside concreate lane. The inside lane is metal grates so you see all the way down to the water

Example of great engineering, which had a huge impact on the living of people of the Michigan State.
Because of the bridge, car ferry business went down. The same with some of the lighthouses in the area.
Because a huge structure of the bridge, a new equipment(sound and light devices) could be installed, so much smaller lighthouses nearby were not needed anymore.
It’s great connection with Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin and Canada.
New bridge has brought big number of tourists who wanted to see the biggest suspension bridge in the world(1957).
Currently it’s the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in Western Hemisphere.
As far as the length, it's 24th in the world.
The bridge is main subject to be photographed in the area.
Sometimes hidden in fog. sometimes bright in sun light.
Basically, any season, any time of the day, from any point (North or South), the Bridge looks beautiful.

The Mackinaw Bridge is an amazingly cool structure! It spans a beautiful piece of water and once you get into the UP its like a different world. The only downside to the bridge is the metal grate lane, not a big deal in a car, but a slightly different experience pulling a trailer or on a motorcycle. Overall, if you visit Michigan this should be on your list.

The ride along the bridge is really picturesque. You see two of the Great Lakes on either side. I was lucky to be a passenger in the front as my friend was doing the driving. There is a four dollar toll on the bridge and there was some traffic backup at the toll booths. It is a nice sight and the bridge structure was impressive.

I've heard about this bridge all of my life. My wife and I drove over it southbound after visiting the Soo Locks. The bridge does NOT take/honor EasyPass. The entire length is roughly 5 miles, shore to shore. The view is stunning on a clear day and gives you, perhaps, the best sense of how vast the Great Lakes are. It's two lanes in each direction. Driving in the left (inner) lane puts you on top of the grating that is the road surface in the center of the bridge. You need to be ready for that because it grips your tires and makes you feel like your car is fishtailing a little. It's a magnificent

I can't imagine how inconvenient travel between the mainland and Upper Peninsula was before this bridge was completed.
It appears to be well maintained and easy to drive.
They post warnings about the weather conditions with plenty of time to adjust to them.
The toll ($4 each way) seems reasonable.
The views on either side of the bridge are beatiful.

This bridge was exciting to cross over. I planned our trip so we would have this opportunity, and it was worth the extra few miles. There is a dramatic view as you cross, as you see the lake beneath and on both sides. What a fun few minutes for our journey!

It is a very pretty bridge separating Lake Superior and Lake Huron. The tolls are $4.00 per car. It separates Mackinac and St Ignace. It is really pretty to see at night when all lit up.
