From the main station of Klagenfurt, it takes less than 10 minutes to reach Maria Saal with S-Bahn 1. However the place seems really off the beaten tracks. Few tourists come to visit the place. Surrounded by fortifications the gothic church is very nice with...More

The Dom in Maria Saal and the surrounding buildings in the Dom Square were established in the 15th century. Therefore, this church and this square is full of history. It was quiet on the day we visited; most tourists presumably had gone home. It is...More

A beautiful church (dom) in a magnificent court yard surrounded by old buildings and a wall. At one time to whole complex was like a castle surrounded by walls and a water-filled moat.

Really great church saw the Vienna Boys Choir was fantastic. This church is really beautiful with so much warmth. The Father has a great sense of humor and seems very involved. Great still life art expo. Worth a visit

The history of this site goes back at least to the Late Celtic period. The church has Roman carvings and an interesting arcade that probably dates to the 7th Century CE.

Well worth the detour on our trip. The cathedral was amazing. It wasn't a especially long visit, but just being in the cathedral was amazing. Everything was decorated for the holidays which made it especially beautiful. Parking is a bit tricky.

The church is Romanesque and Gothic. It's a wonderful church to visit. When I was there no one was around. Very spiritual.

on the right hand side of the street going to the cathedral there is the wool factory Wolle Wolhgemuth which is the largest of Carinthia. The "decoration" of the fence is a kind of "commercial" poster. The wool factory has... More
