1st concert I saw here was blackfoot in 1980. Seen probably 25 others over the years. Always a good time. Mayday Parade was tonight, general admission. Huge problem, the mezzanine was closed, unbelievable . I understand that there were only 5 or 600 people but...More
We went here to the Punch Brother's concert. The music was excellent, but not the venue. I was expecting a typical concert venue, but it's really some kind of very old theatre with stepped platforms, not a nice slope. The seats were just folding chairs...More
Took out teenagers to see Ninja Sex Party. The doors opened at 7:00 pm. We got there at 6:30 and the lines were so long, we didn't get inside until 8:15 So be prepared to stand in line outside for awhile if you're attending a...More
We went for a to see the brave wilderness live show and all the staff were super polite, friendly and helpful. They seemed very organized and we're able to accommodate the large crowd. There is no parking on site but there is 2 public parking...More
We went as couples to see the Mavericks. The venue is not too big or not too small. Theres a bar in the back to get a drink or there are some roaming waitstaff to bring them. The staff was very freindly and we had...More
I recently saw Marillion at the Royal Oak Theater and enjoyed every minute of it. Royal Oak is an older theater tastefully decorated. The show I saw had a mix of seating and general admission standing in the front. Behind the standing room general admission...More
We just saw Uncle Kramer here. The venue has metal detectors and they check every bag so we felt safe. The security staff was on the ball, we saw a few people getting rowdy and they removed them right away. The bar tenders were extremely...More
I saw three bands here and enjoyed the sound quality and the atmosphere. One band did have mic issues to start and threw water in the mosh area that caused someone to fall and injure themselves. Besides those antics, it was a nice venue. Staff...More
ATL are one of my favorite bands. Got to meet them and got autographs and pics. Great time. Concert was really good. Sound is not the best. The place should be updated. The last time I was here was 25 years ago, saw Frank zappa....More

I would call the venue for the specific event and how the promoter booked the ROMT seating.

A good restaurant near Royal Oak Music Theatre (4 Replies)
Hi, I am going to a concert at ROMT, and would like to go to a pretty decent restaurant near the theatre. I know there are many many restaurants, so I am trying to narrow it down to : within walking distance, possibly where I can leave my car for the duration of the concert, sit down table service. If you can suggest a place please let me know...Thanks

Right across from the theatre, there is a Spanish restaurant with a nice menu and atmosphere and usually a lively crowd. Restaurant's name is Sangria. Parking garage is inexpensive and only one block away. Here is the link to the restaurant: www.sangriaroyaloak.com. I've eaten there a number of times for lunch and dinner and have always been happy with the menu variety, the food and the service.
Royal Oak Michigan - hotels/motels (2 Replies)
My husband and I will be traveling to the Royal Oak Music Theatre for a concert. Are there any decent hotels or motels close by to the Theatre? Karen

Depending on the class level you prefer, there are a few, though none within walking distance of the theater. Within a few miles' drive are several national-chain hotels like Red Roof, Comfort, Knights, Hampton, etc. There are a few clustered around the Dequindre Rd. exit off of the I-696 highway (about 3-4 miles east of Royal Oak), and there are also a number of them clustered around Oakland Mall, about 4 miles to the northeast. There's really nothing WITHIN the city limits of Royal...More
