Costumed Escape Room Hosts guide teams through a unique & memorable experience. Breakout has the most FUN! Teams have a blast working together to solve different kinds of puzzles, challenges & scavenger hunts to complete their mission in the private, movie set like, game room. Friendly and helpful party planners are available to set up a memorable birthday party, youth group activity, team building event, or a special Date Night. Escape Games are great for all ages and group sizes from 2 to 75 people. A beautiful staged after-game photo of your entire group is provided.

Breakout Escape Room Royal Oak
This was my first experience doing a breakout room. The staff were incredibly inviting and helpful, the atmosphere was fun and whimsical. My guests were also first timers with a breakout room experience and we all had a blast. We will definitely be returning to this one or going to try out the Ann Arbor location next!

Fun in downtown
Such a fun experience!! Love the decorations and the staff was a blast!! Our game room was so amazing and their props are just to die for. The whole game lasted about an hour and they give you extra time if you don’t escape!

Awesome!!
Breakout is so fun! They have so many different themes and games to play ranging difficulties. We played their zombie roadhouse recently and it was so thrilling and exciting!! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an escape room adventure. Very fun!!

UNHELPFUL STAFF - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Recently did the pirate room. At first, I was impressed. The atmosphere was very decorated for Halloween and welcoming. Then I was very disappointed. We did the Pirates room. They would give us clues without even asking and then we would ask for a clue they wouldn't give anything. All first Gen escape rooms (the pirate's room) low budget only used locks. We had the right number on the lock and the lock jammed. Ideally, we lost due to horrible customer service, having the correct code for 15+ minutes and the staff did not help us at all! We even said the code out loud multiple times and said that code has to go there and still nothing. No help. The only time we got help was on puzzles we had already solved or were almost done solving. And this was the only room allowed for just 2 people. They tried to make us feel better by saying "we did better than most groups" and by saying part of the price is paying for your picture too. Very disappointed I won't be back due to the horrible customer service. Not disappointed that I didn't get out. I'm disappointed that the lock jammed even with the correct code and the staff did nothing. Even when I showed her what it was. Also, no visual time clock. You have to listen for the lightning storm and that means ten minutes have passed by. Absolutely horrible and I've done 80+ escape rooms. Do not recommend it.

Chamber of Illusions

Love love love this experience! Our game master, Jake was great with the clues! It was so intriguing trying to piece each hint together and working together as a team. I'd definitely recommend the Chamber of Illusions. The game was great and the staff was very accommodating.

If you’re thinking about doing something you’ve never done before yet looking for fun and excitement go visit this place!!! Accommodates all ages.ring masters give you an 5 star experience EVERY TIME!! I promise you won’t be disappointed. Leaves you with a “ remember that time we played Elf myself at breakout in royal oak?” Experience!

Challenging Family Fun

We've done multiple escape rooms over the last four years. It is a special family celebration for us. This was our first time here, and it was very challenging! We were at the edge of solving the exit when time expired. Great fun for sure!

Great family activity

First time ever in an Escape room and we had a ton of fun. The host had great pointers. The puzzles were fun and challenging and they had a cool way of giving you hints (a fortune teller spit out cards). They were watching along so they’d give you hints when you were really stuck. We ran out of time but were super close to figuring it all out so they gave us extra time. Props were cool and the ringmaster story was cute. Now my son wants to go back and try another room for his birthday!

Great Place for parties:)

My first time doing an escape room and definately failed completely. 😂 but totally worth all the laughs and brain farts! me and my family did the exact same room with all the same clues and time limit. we did it as a challenge and both teams failed, came very close but failed. Angel was our party person and she was defiantely the bomb! so helpful, definately would go again!! 💚

Failure can be fun....

This was GREAT! We chose the Christmas themed escape and were OH SO CLOSE, but time ran out. Had we had another 5 minutes, I think we might have been successful. So much fun and I would definitely choose this venue again!

Chamber of Illusions - WELL DONE!

Spent father's day evening with the family at Breakout Royal Oak for an adventure called Chamber of Illusions.
1st impressions mean a lot, and compared to other escape room places we have been, THIS outshines them all, Building was clean and inviting, with free parking in a busy area. Inside decor was perfect for the venue and well maintained.
Our host, Connor, was friendly, informative and personable - you can tell he really cared for the company and enjoyed his job.
The room was a non-linear event (you don't have to do anything in a particular order). The clues, puzzles, props, decorations were so well tied in with the theme, it gave the "illusion" (pun intended) of being transported into the magician's shop.
We had five adults in our group, two of which had never experienced an escape room and were skeptical about having any fun. They were well surprised as to how much fun this event was and how well everything was put together.
I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend BREAKOUT ROYAL OAK, particularly this newer room of Chamber of Illusions.
Now we can't wait to get back soon and try our luck at Nutcracking the Case...
(Oh, yes, and we DID break out with just literally a couple minutes to spare)

Memorable time at Breakout

A friend from out of town was visiting and this was a great way to make the most of the short time we had. We laughed so hard and will not forget our stories from 'The Chamber of Illusions'
