My daughter (13 year old) and I came here from Macomb especially for the one time wheel throwing experience. I couldn't find anywhere else closer to do that without committing to a multi week class. This was exactly what we were looking for. Matt ran our class and he was fantastic. Patient and helpful with steps and process and in ensuring we both would have a bowl in the end. From calling for additional info, to reserving time for the wheel throwing on line straight thru to checking out at the end, this was a great experience. The employees were customer focused, helpful and friendly .. making art accessible for the non-artist exploring. We came an hour before our scheduled pottery throwing and did a glass fusion project, which was perfect timing. Our pottery throwing lesson and painting took another hour, and it never felt rushed. I observed a young lady employee running a large group of girls for wax hands -= she was engaging with the girls, keeping them focused while maintaining a fun atmosphere! Impressive! Store is bright and well organized, lots of activities to choose from. I'm looking forward to going back to pick up the pieces to see how they turned out. The place was easy to find. Center street parking garage is two minute walk from location. Lots of food options within two to five minute walk (we ended up eating at Brueggers Bagels a couple blocks away after our lesson then stopping at Astoria Pastry before heading home .. but lots of other neat options very close by).

The kids wanted to paint pottery & the one studio we go to is closed on Wednesday’s. We found this place & decided to go. Royal Oak parking is a pain, so that wasn’t fun. The studio was big and had a lot of pottery to choose from and it was reasonably priced. The thing I didn’t care for was the sitting fee they charge. It’s like 6$ per child and 8 per adult, so that’s 18 dollars plus the cost of their pottery. Idk, it was a good time, but if there wasn’t a sitting fee, I would have given them 5 stars.

Hi Kevin, we're so happy to hear that you and the kids had fun, thanks for coming in! We totally understand how annoying parking in Royal Oak can be, we're not crazy about it either! In regards to the studio fees, we charge those to cover the cost of firing, glazing, and sorting your finished pottery. We understand that it can add up fast, especially when you bring the whole family in, we just want to be able to finish your work in the best way possible. Again, thank you so much for dropping by to paint and we hope to see you again soon!

I paid $185.00 to take a Wheel Throwing class for 6 weeks. The reason for taking this class was to help me with my depression. The beginning of my class started out great my teacher was Ellen and I made a few good pieces, but depression took over again and on top of that I had another death in my family. I called location to see if I could restart in another class and I was advised by store manger MITCH that I would have to pay $60.00 on top of the $185.00 that I already paid to complete the class. I don't believe that is a fair. So if you pay for a class make sure you take it when scheduled because they will not compromise with you in any situation.

I brought my four grandkids here, ages from 5 to 16 and they all had a great time. We each picked out what we wanted to paint from the large selection. The staff was very helpful explaining which paints would be best for the younger kids. We were able to relax and enjoy our time there while making beautiful works of art. :). They also sell snacks and drinks there, which the kids always look forward to. One of my favorite places to go!
