Just attended a Rochester Rotary event. It was an evening event for members. They do allow you to have events catered there. The Barn is very attractive inside and out. ayou can walk around outside and the flowers and grounds are well maintained. It is a well kept farm.

Learn how some of the early settlers were influential in early Michigan. The house is a must visit at Christmas. The barn is also quite interesting with its artifacts from early Michigan farming.

I wanted to rent The Calf Barn for a neighborhood event. It was available. I asked to call them back the following day. Jenna, who is the ONLY PERSON who can do this, never returned phone calls or voicemails. Nothing. If someone answered, only Jenna could help me. And I guess she wasn't interested. This caused us a time crunch because we needed to get the location out to our homeowners. We found a closer, better and less expensive location who gladly took our check.
It's so frustrating when you have money in your hand and just want customer service.
I would NEVER advise anyone to rent from them. They apparently don't need the business. I'd really advise a bride against renting. Can you imagine?

VanHoosen Museum tells the story of two famous women - Sarah Van Hoosen Jones and Bertha Van Hoosen. Their success in animal husbandry made a significant impact on society

The first time I was here, we were making arrangements to have our wedding here back in 1998. We just loved the setting and the farm and have taken our children back many times over the years for various visits -- historical tours with classmates, summer fun at special events, and the list goes on. There is nothing not to like about this very special place -- everyone we've met here is wonderful and works here out of a labor of love. They are always making improvements and adding things to the museum and its schedule. I am grateful for their dedication and thankful that places like this are preserved and cared for -- my family will continue to support and attend events here at every opportunity. You should too :-)

we were getting a photo shoot with portrait scenes company out of sterling heights, mi and the location we chose was van hoosen farms in rochester hills, mi off of 25 mile road (runyon road) west of dequindre road. i have passed it a dozen times, never drove in, but am glad we did our family photos there. it is very well maintained, a park type atmosphere, you can relax by the river, and/or the babbling brook, many areas to walk to, historic homes and barns, lovely flowers and ferns and flaura and fauna. very relaxing place. you gotta check it out. also our family photos with portrait scenes company out of sterling heights, mi turned out fantastic with excellent backdrops do to van hoosen farms!

We held a combination swim team and family party a few weeks back at the Museum and everyone had a fantastic time. The venue was in a "barn" which has been converted to a wonderful modern conference facility. It is roomy, air-conditioned, has very clean rest rooms, drinking fountains, and the ability to serve beer and wine with the proper facilitators.
Since it was a beautiful day, the younger crowd could enjoy the out of doors where there is a vast beautiful mowed green pasture area as well as a babbling brook/creek to dip your feet into.
To top it off, the Museum is open to the party guests at no additional charge. There you see all sorts of historical artifacts and stories about the formation of Rochester Hills, Michigan and especially the Van Hoosen Farm and its family.

Large beautiful farm house. The tour is interesting and very enjoyable. The main barn is admirable. Not the run of the mill design. Stone walls and silos are interesting. Watch for lectures and interesting films. The farm is a great Rochester Hills asset.

When is the ROCHESTER Symphony playing at the farm?

Good morning Michelle. Unfortunately the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is not hosting the Rochester Symphony. Perhaps they are performing at the Rochester Municipal Park or Bear Creek in Oakland Township. Have a great week!
