Visited on a Friday during the Summer and wound up spending several hours. Aside from the usual house and grounds tour, Fridays in the Summer they host a farmers market and have live music. Quite a fun little experience to have stumbled upon.

We took the full tour, with a lovely guide in really cute old-fashioned attire. She was great with the 2 5-year olds in our group - really engaging and didn't spend too much time talking about anything to the point that they would get antsy or bored. She gave them each a sheet with scavenger hunt type items to locate throughout the museum, which they really loved.

The house itself is gorgeous - a little sad the third floor wasn't open. There are some really neat displays. And then several buildings outback also host interesting displays. Our favorite - both adults and kids - was the one-room school house. Unlike most of the museum rooms, this one is hands-on. Kids can sit at the desks, and there was a chalkboard with chalk at each one. The also got to ring the great big bell out front to announce it was school-time.

And then the best part, I think this maybe only happens on farmers market days? - Was that they actually had a little class hosted by a volunteer for the kids in the one-room school room after our tour. Only about 6 kids showed up (2 were with us), but the "teacher" walked them through a craft and then read a book, and she even gave each of the kids a copy of the book to take home. It was really the coolest experience, in a very neat old building. The kids loved it.

Although the buildings weren't open because of Covid-19 it was a great experience just to walk though to view & read the history in this historic Village. We can't wait to come back another time to see the history inside the buildings and perhaps a guided tour for more stories on the buildings.

Interesting local historical museum. The museum house is interesting, and includes nearly entirely original contents of the old Victorian House. The more interesting bit may be building in back, which you can't really see from the road. There's a little bit of history for everyone here; exhibits on hunting, military, native Americans and farming as well as a train depot under restoration and a one-room school house that was in operation until surprisingly recently.

Only accessible twice a day through the guided tour. Don't show up early, they don't want visitors exploring the grounds themselves. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking and standing as you go through the Village. I personally wouldn't do the house tour without the Village, but they do offer that option. Apparently they also run local lighthouse tours and have special themed events during the year.
