The Blue Water Trolley takes you on a one-hour narrated tour of 50 points of interest in Port Huron, for the bargain price of 10¢ for adults and 5¢ for seniors (tips are accepted but not solicited at the end). You can pick it up at the city bus center opposite the McMorran complex, or just around the corner on Huron Ave in front of Farm Bureau Insurance. It's a fun way to get the big picture of the downtown area, and well worthwhile.

Besides being the best bargain in Port Huron; this tour provides an excellent orientation to the area, and its history. Being a long time inhabitant of the town; our driver/narrator, P. J., was a wealth of knowledge. Her detail and humor, made for an engaging and entertaining presentation. The tour takes about an hour; and we enjoyed it so much, we went around twice. And, at 10 cents, it's less expensive then driving around one's own vehicle. (Besides the fact, that it's much easier to observe the sights, when someone else is driving). This is definitely a wonderful welcome gift Port Huron provides to its visitors.

This ended up being the last thing we did in Port Huron. It would have been better if it were the first. We lucked on to the tour at the Maritime Center. We knew about it but really didn’t understand where you could get on and the timing. We did manage to get on the last full tour of our last day. By the way, if those potholes in the Maritime Center parking lot were bad in the car, that was nothing compared to the trolley. Our driver was great and knew so much about the area and the sights we saw. She talked nearly non-stop for the entire one hour tour and she was full of information. Yes, the cost is only a nickel for seniors and a dime for everyone else, but be prepared to add a generous tip as you leave. It is well worth it!

Dig down into that pocket for this tour! Better yet, reach for the wallet! This tour is awesome! The trolley driver, Joy, I believe, was so knowledgeable of all the historic building that she talked almost non-stop for an hour mentioning a lot of details. Besides being a tour trolley, it will make dropoff stops along the way like a regular bus. We got to Port Huron about 3 in the afternoon so there was only one trip left after our trip so it wasn't convenient to get off anywhere along the way.
