The Blue Water Bridge offers some excellent views of the southern tip of Lake Huron and the mouth of the St. Clair River. You will have plenty of time to view as this is a very popular crossing into Canada by both tourists and tons...More

It’s very hard to maintain the designated speed on the bridge based on the parabola of the bridge from start to finish.

The Blue Water Bridge was beautiful. There is a nice long walkway by the water. Benches to sit and enjoy the view. It looks like a short distance to Canada. We all enjoyed the nice long walk by the beautiful water.

The US side of the bridge is well-maintained. Very clean and a level sidewalk. Plenty of places for photo opportunities and to enjoy the rushing currents and freighters passing by. If you go in winter, it’s very windy and easily 15• colder than just a...More

We had never traveled to Canada so we were prepared with our visas. Customs were friendly but serious about there duties. The best part is the view crossing the bridge.

I fly into Detroit airport. Rent a car and drive the 78 miles to Port Huron. Crossing the bridge has never in my experience been a problem. I then head east on the 402 to London Ont. The Port Huron Bridge is the way even...More

The bridge is pretty, we used this to travel to Canada, and to return back to USA. Both times there were no lines. The Officers both times were very polite and nice. Pleasant experience.

It does its job getting you across the water and from one country to another. On the whole, it's just another road.

When we make shopping trips to Detroit we typically cross the Canada/US border via this bridge. It has a dedicated lane for NEXUS card holders which means we can pass the cars in the regular line-up. On our last trip home, the line-up returning to...More

No cost for anything, plus free parking nearby, and plenty of great breezes. Michigan is a wonderful state when it comes to free (or low cost) outdoor recreation. I am biased. One side of my family is from this area but I... More

Best border crossing from London, Ontario to Michigan? (4 Replies)
Traveling from London to Ann Arbor. Google Maps has a different route recommendation on any given day - Sarnia/Blue Water Bridge, Windsor/Ambassador Bridge or Windsor/tunnel. Any thoughts on shortest wait times, least rude border patrol, etc?

Hi deathorglory; Sarnia/ Pt. Huron (Blue Water Bridge) misses the congestion in and around Detroit. It would be my suggestion. Best Regards

Suggestions for gas station stops along ON-402 (5 Replies)
As those who have responded extensively to my other inquiries on here (btw, thank you very much), I will be traveling along 402 on May 26th and again when I return to the US on May 29th. Since I anticipate that even the Nexus line may be backed up on the Canadian side of the Blue Water Bridge on May 29th (all those Americans/stateside Canadians who have to return from their Memorial Day weekends attempting to get back in time for work on May 30th), I am planning to make a stop for gas...More

Method of payment for Blue Water Bridge crossing (0 Replies)
Hi, Does anyone happen to know what methods of payment are accepted at the Blue Water Bridge crossing? I have read that cash is accepted but that machines for debit/credit cards were being installed. Many thanks in advance for your response.
