Awesome Sunset

Amazing sunsets, great beach. Beautiful dunes near beach, good facilities, campgrounds and some hiking trails. Found some smaller Petoskey stones while searching the beach.

Stopped in for a quick search for petoskey stones. Did find one small stone, but also found a small cache of sea glass! Score! End of season, so seaweed is washing up, but very clean beach! You need to go

I waited till I had camped at this state park twice before writing a review, because I didn't know if my first impression was truly reflective of the campground or just a one-off, but I've now had the same experience twice, so here goes... This park is beautiful, there's no denying that. And the city of Petoskey has shops, restaurants,... More

Petoskey State Park is close to my home and between my home and work so it's always easily accessible to me . I'm fortunate to be able to visit the park every season, every month of the year. I have seen many positive changes over the years, it's a very well maintained park. I've been there for picnics, swimming, kayaking,... More

I wish I had more time to explore the park! They have great little hiking trails. The beach was beautiful, very rocky, but you can still see some Petoskey stones! I will need to plan a return visit to do more hiking.

If have State of Michigan Park pass, admission to the park is free. Water was pretty cold and choppy for late August. Beach was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Concession stand was closed when we were there. The seagulls were very, very annoying!!! While laying on the beach you could see them flying over you constantly. They would walk right up... More

It's a nice enough park though, to be honest, it's a bit on the small side. It was clean. Parking was good. But there's not a lot there.

We were told of a nearby place at the Petoskey State Park where we could find Petoskey stones in Lake Michigan. We brought food for the seagulls, and spent the morning in the lake in our bathing suits finding tiny stones with beautiful markings on them. A picnic table was available for our packed lunch. The beach is a wonderful... More

I enjoy the State park for a few different reasons, there are many things to explore! From camping, to paddle boarding, to volleyball, to lying on the beach, the Petoskey State Park is a family friendly place for you! There was also a concession stand recently added to the beach front that serves a generous scoop of ice cream along... More
