Very disappointed with the rude man behind the counter. Husband and I have been too many wineries over the years and just so disappointed. That man ruined our visit there. Wines were good but we refused to buy anything. I know we could have left, but we made the trip and decided to try wines anyways

This was my second trip to this winery. My second experience, was the same as the first, not pleasant! The female owner is quite frankly, rude! We arrived on a vine ride, there were 7 of us, nobody else was there. Upon arrival sparkling wine was poured and picked for us. There was a paper sheet and pencils, my assumption as with other wineries was we could pick. When we simply asked what the wine was in our glass, and how this worked, could we choose samples? Could I just buy a glass of wine, she lost it! She grabbed all 7 glasses and dumped them in a ceramic pitcher (btw some had taken a sip of theirs already), she told us nobody has “ever” asked to buy just a glass, and wine tastings are done not by you choosing. She picks the wines and then she knows what you like. Many in our group didn’t like white wine. It is fine if that’s how YOU do it, but how about welcoming us and explaining YOUR process. After that it went downhill, she fought with the other 3 in our vine ride. She told us if we wanted to pick our own samples we may wait up to 20 min (again we are the only 7 there). She should not be in customer service, if she is knowledgeable she has a horrible bedside manner and she didn’t convey her knowledge? Last summer she wouldn’t help our group because a larger group had made a reservation, she was just as rude. Two strikes for me, I am out!

We visited the winery to celebrate my 29th birthday. I was with my mother (56 YO), Aunt (51 YO) and cousin (28 YO). When we first arrived, the plump lady with an attitude asked us how many wineries we had been to (first one *as we were not doing the wine passport*) and proceeded to be EXTREMLY rude to us for the rest of our visit. She questioned if I was going to be sharing my wine flight with underage people (my 56 YO mother?). We couldn’t say anything right, even our wine choices got rude commentary. Steer clear. Many enjoyable wineries in the area.

We went to the tasting room. We paid the $10 for s tasting that we were sharing. The owner tells us that she does a generous pour however she expects people to take a taste and then dump the test. We enjoyed the wine and bought a bottle. Why would we dump it if we paid for the tasting and liked it. As I said we we're not drunk we shared the tasting.

We came to this winery as part of the Bay View wine trail. How disappointing! The woman behind the bar seriously offended us when at the end of our wine tasting we showed them our Bay View wine trail passport. She told us that the people with the wine passports were always the ones who were most obnoxious. She also said that we should have shown her that passport at the beginning of the tasting. And from there treated us very rudely. None of the other wineries treated us so rudely when we showed them the passport. We enjoyed every other stop and unfortunately this is how we ended our day. We will never return!

I am sorry you didn't enjoy your experience and the fact you felt we were rude to you. I am please that you enjoyed your visit to the other Bay View Wine Trail wineries. Again we apologize that your visit with us was disappointing. We will be happy to honor the passport if you do ever decide to visit again.

We had a truly remarkable family & friends trip to Rudbeckia, which is joined with Burnt Marshmallow Brewing. The generous pours, unique menu offerings (food and drink), and welcoming atmosphere kept our group of five entertained for three hours! I cannot wait to come back during the warmer months to enjoy the wide-open garage door, bocce ball, and cornhole.

A few things I strongly recommend if you make the wise decision to visit: the s'mores kit, a fresh cup of coffee paired with Rudbeckia's ice wine, and a take-home bottle of their reasonably priced wine to help you reminisce about your trip when you get home.

Rudbeckia Farm and Winery is connected with Burnt Marshmallow Brewing and you can get tastes of wine, beers and ciders.........for a price........a big price. The cost of just one tiny taste is 2.50 and some are even 3.00. I much prefer the wineries where you can get 4 or 5 tastes for $5. Having said that I really liked their ice wine and my husband fell in love with their S'mores beer. We didn't buy anything though as the S'mores beer was unavailable for purchase (didn't have enough to properly fill a container) and I just could't spend that kind of money on wine. The tasting experience was great and the owners were very friendly and spent a lot of time chatting with us...........I just wish everything hadn't been so expensive.

Located just outside of Petoskey, its nothing more than a big pole barn. The owners say they have been open since May of this year. Always nice stopping by a place that not many have found yet. They have wine, mead, ciders and even beer available. For 10 bucks you can sample 4 items on their menu. They do not make their stuff on location here because its way too small right now. Owners seemed nice but my husband and I being in our twenties, we didn't get the same treatment as the older couples that came in. Our favorite was the oh cherry cherry cider, so good!
