Summit Peak is a nice stop to make during your trip to the Porkies. However, I would not go so far as to say it is the highlight of the journey. There is a nicely maintained walkway that takes you up to a cool tower....More

It's about equal to 24 flights of stairs but it's spread out. Even if your out ot shape, don't worry. It's doable. If you're afraid heights, don't worry the barriers a such that you will be OK.

Manageable hiking on well groomed trails from parking lot with restroom facilities. A little scary to climb the tower, but worth it.

This is a great hike and view from the top, however, you will want to definitely wear your hiking shoes and be able to endure a little more moderate hiking with the incline of the hike to the tower where you will climb 40 feet...More

During our stay in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, we drove to the Summit Peak Scenic Area; we did the half mile hike to the highest point in the mountains and climbed up the look out tower. Nice to enjoy the panoramic view from the...More

As seniors, we sometimes feel so blessed to be able to do this type of attraction. There are lots of stairs to the top, and many to the tower itself, nothing too crazy, we are in decent shape so we stopped one or two times...More

After a short but very pleasant half mile hike (including 200+ stairs), you will be greeted with a stunning 360 degree view. If autumn, the colors will be gorgeous.

You need to travel upwards and the look out adds more steps yet the view is breath taking. A decent walk with rest stops for those wanting to experience the view.

50-60 is accurate for the tower; I'm going to say it's more like over 100 steps for the upper section of the trail. I didn't personally count, but someone coming down told us they'd been counting and the number they... More
