We hiked from Lake Superior to Summit Peak road and the trail runs mostly along the river making it incredibly picturesque. We crossed the river 3 times, and one of those crossings included wading through fast moving, thigh high water. At 5’7”, 123 lbs + full 55l backpack I needed two solid walking sticks and very careful footing to walk... More

A very fun, nice, and enjoyable hike. Very pretty scenery with so much to see. Did this with the hubs and we both had fun. ***Woofer friendly

Absolutely great. I like isolation, contemplating nature, experiencing nature. Great experience. Seeing the waterfalls, then backpacking to Lake of The Clouds.

Stayed in the Section 17 cabin along the trail, and can't say enough about how amazing the trail along the river is.

I love hiking near and across mountain streams. This trail offers many such opportunities. It also offers some hiking through old growth forests. I loved these aspects of the trail. The slope and difficulty of the trail is moderate IMO. (Note that we hiked the upper half of the trail only). I did not love the mosquitoes. I'd douse myself... More

The trail is one of the driest in the park with some incredible views of the Little Carp River and several waterfalls. It is a tough hike, lots of ups and downs, but well-worth the effort. Numerous campsites and several cabins can be accessed from this trail.

Great rustic trail, beautiful cabin experience and stay. Used water for cooking, drinking and cleaning. Very clean. Beautiful natural setting. Other than foot trail, very little evidence of humans messing up area.

If you like the sound of rushing water, this is your place. It' s not nearly as popular as Presque Isle or Lake of the Clouds. Really its beauty is a bit more subdued. It's a great place to just sit and listen to nature. If you spend more than a day in the park, you should really stop here-just... More

Everything in the Porkies park is beautiful. Lake Superior, inland lakes, just great!
