The hike to mirror lake from Lake of the Clouds took me about two to two and a half hours. If you go early in the morning, you'll encounter less people. The view of the lake was spectacular and was a good place to eat a small picnic lunch. The one thing I did not enjoy was a narrow boardwalk... More

After a long day of hiking it was very ice to pitch the tent and just relax by the lake. The water was warm enough for swimming. The lake itself isn't exceptional comparing to other lakes in UP and Northern WI. There are 3 cabins on the opposite shore. It gets pretty quiet in late afternoon but during the day... More

After a 2 miles hiking you will get to this open view of the Mirror lake. There was so quire and you can watch the leaves falling into the lake without any sound. This is one of the beautiful lake UP showed us in our hiking trip

It is a LONG hike to get here, and you should plan the hike so you get the most out of it. From Summit Peak to Mirror Lake is much easier than the reverse route. Just as we arrived at the lake, storm clouds were blowing in and the lake was choppy, so we didn't get the best experience possible.

It was a soggy trail due to rain the previous day, and the mosquitoes were plentiful so bug repellent is a must. Luckily there were a couple rocks to sit on once we got there to eat our lunch, but it wasn't anything special. On the way back, we dreaded the long up-hill hikel back to the car. Would just... I read the reviews on this before we left on vacation and marked it one of our must see places to visit and made sure to pack food, water and bug spray! I'm so glad I did because we sure needed it. We started out at lake of the clouds and headed down the very long trail to get to... More

Pack a lunch. Wear good hiking footwear. Bring plenty of water. Don't forget a camera. Walk the loop- from the Summit Peak Tower back around to the parking area. Its +5 miles and worth it. We had our lunch at a back packing camp site. Kids had fun playing in the water. Not that difficult. Some parts of the trail... More

The mosquitos were terrible. Due to the lake and pockets of areas for water to collect, this trail was a breeding ground for the mosquitos and it was awful trying to hike through it. I could see in the fall or early spring before the mosquitos start up it could be very nice. The trail it's self is moderate and... More

We made the 5 mile looped hike to this lake. It was hot and so we took a dip, the whole family. The water temperature was perfectly cool for a swim on a hot day. There was no beach access where we met up on the shore however the little stony bottom wasn't too much for our family to walk... More

We decided we would start here first knowing it would be the toughest. It's slightly uphill to the observation tower but not bad as you hit a board walk and the steps begin. You get to the top of the observation tower and begin on the "real" trail with 1 1/2 miles to the lake. It is announced on the... More
