The staff and volunteers here do a great job interpreting the history of Haslett, Okemos, and Meridian township. This park does a great job of preserving some of the area's historic architecture which has sadly been lost due to new development. This is a great place to visit, support, and volunteer!

This little place is a great experience for young and old. It certainly is not Greenfield Village, but this is a quaint, beautiful setting that is underutilized. Take a walk through the buildings as well as down by the water on the dock.

Meridian Historical Village is a well put together collection of the way life was during the early years of Meridian. The docents are quite knowledgeable. Visit on a Saturday during the summer months between 9 and 2 while the fabulous Meridian Farmer's Market is happening. The Farmer's Market has expanded right up to the village entrance.

This village hosts a school house, farm house, boarding house, school, church, log cabin, general store, and toll house. These are authentic buildings transported from around the county. Check their website for public days: www.meridianhistoricalvillage.org/

Nice location: In the same parking lot as the Historic Village, you can see the Nokomis Learning Center www.nokomis.org (Ojibwe culture), and a robust farmer's market on Sat./Wed. Plus Central Park has a pond, trails, and a little playground, and it's across the street from Meridian Mall. Something for everyone with one stop.

We love this place! It has a playground for kids and a picnic shelter. There are many old buildings including a schoolhouse, general store, and a tollgate. There is also a nice pier for fishing. The only drawback is that the buildings aren’t always open. But otherwise, this place is an awesome place for everyone!

The buildings were all interesting. This is all outside entrances so a hot day is questionable. There is a pavilion and playground for younger children with restroom access.

I momentary step back in time right in the middle of Okemos. Also a great spot to take some photos of the kids.

I took my two granddaughters to the Meridian Historical Village on a hot sunny day last summer. They really enjoyed the swings at the village entrance, but when we made it to the village grounds, just yards away, there was no one on site to narrate a tour of any of the several buildings. To be fair, it was not a special day, and apparently, no such tours are available except on designated days. The buildings were locked, which was disappointing, but more disappointing was having to step over and around all the goose feces, which I call goop (for goose poop). It was disgusting due largely to too many geese and/or no one to clean up the mess, which was pervasive not only around the pond, but also over most of the village grounds. Until some of our taxes go toward improving the situation, I won't be going back.

Went here for the 4th of July celebrations. Cool place to explore the buildings. They also had folks dressed up and talking about history. Learned a lot about how socks were made in the olden days. Also saw civil war reenactments.

This is a great place to visit if you are just looking for something to do on a nice day. It's clean, the landscaping is beautiful, and the historic buildings are cool to see. The best part is that it is all free! The pond is also very nice. We plan on going back next week to get some family photos taken there!
