About
Opened in 2005, the Suburban Collection Showplace has now grown to be Michigan’s second-largest convention and expo center. A recent expansion included the new EVENTS CENTER, which includes two additional ballrooms and generous pre-function gathering space, features large picture windows, upgraded LED lighting, energy efficient HVAC systems, modern carpet, paint and décor, state of the art audio systems, an interior box office and additional new exterior parking. In addition to new banquet space for corporate events, the expansion allows large consumer shows like the Novi Home Show, the MARVAC RV& Camping Show, the Ultimate Fishing Show, the Novi Golf Show, the Novi Boat Show, Outdoorama, Motor City Comic Con, and the Michigan State Fair to increase their footprint and provide larger shows for their guests and vendors.

I was kind of disappointed in the venue. They just did a massive addition and the biggest drawback is the concession stand. DO NOT waste your time on the food here. MASSIVE disappointment! Go somewhere else, your stomach will thank you.

Always have to pay to park and the events are pricey. The venue itself is nice, but not really great for a state fair.

Daughter had a gymnastics meet here and it went very smoothly.
Easy parking and entry to the facility. Event was clearly called out once you got inside and easy to find where we needed to go. Clean facility that offers a lot of space for all kinds of things.

This is the first year I’ve venture to the State Fair in Novi, the lines where hours long, for everything, food , rides and all. I am aware we are in the mist of COVID-19, however more help is needed to run the booth. My family and I spent a total of $88 on wristbands and tickets to only be able to get on one ride in the two hour we stood in the line. The food lines were just as long if not longer. This was the ultimate waste of time and money, If the fair organization can’t do any better in Novi if should be moved to a different location.

Most poorly run convention I've ever attended. I dont blame the volunteers, but the actual staff of this convention can't be trusted to tell the truth about anything. The circus with autographs for David Tennant and Freema Agyeman is unlike anything I've ever seen. Warn everyone that Motor City Con has had 30 years to get it right, and have failed dramatically.

We will pass along your concerns to the promoter. The Suburban Collection Showplace had nothing to do with lines for entry or autographs, so while your feedback should be valuable to Motor City Comic Con, ultimately your review is not related to our facility.

The Suburban Collection Showplace is a large facility that hosts multiple events on most weekends. It is large enough that they often hold several different events at the same time. This weekend, we went to attend an Art Show and there were a five other events in the other halls at the same time. They provide food and drinks (soft drinks and adult beverages) in each of the halls. Another typical week will be a Home and Garden Show that fills all of the halls. Watch for local coupons for admission and parking discounts. Some weekends, the parking is free for some events while others are $5 per car. Depending on the show, you may spend one hour or several hours.

I go to the Gem shows and when its at Novi I have to pay for parking! When I go to the show in Southfield I never have to pay for parking! I don't like that!

Went here for a trade show. The staff on site were helpful and cordial. The food options were typical trade show fare, but there was a salad bar that added a nice break from heavy, greasy meals. A nice light lunch to tide you over while standing all day. The bathrooms did smell slightly, but there were 1000's of people using them over 4 days. The location was convenient with many dining and lodging options available. More are on the way. 2 hotels were under construction in the area during our stay.

I am always annoyed that they charge to park here for every single event. We have already paid an admission. Why pay to park? This is Novi - not Chicago.
