Your choice of paved or dirt paths, my seven year old got tired before we could hike the whole perimeter. Some hills, but not strenuous.

Local State Park. Several walking/hiking trails. Serene! Trails are well maintained, though signage is somewhat confusing. Back to nature without having to travel!

Great place to go on a short walk through the woods. Several paths available. Hiking trail separate from horse trail. Several loops. Very easy to walk. Also possibility to visit a farm with a little store selling crafts, soaps, honey, etc. Self registration or pay the ranger

Great place for adults and children to visit. Elementary kids would enjoy the visit ranging from family to school field trips . Staff provides great information and interaction. Enjoyable place to go through out the year.

The park is well kept. There is bike trail, running trails, running paths and walking. The park has great atmosphere and lots of [parking. It's a escape from the downtown pavement.

A great place to host a family picnic is this, Michigan's first "urban" state park. No camping. Built on the grounds of a former TB sanitarium that was long-since removed by the state, this rolling, treed park is great for summer picnics. There are also mountain bike and horse trails here. In winter, return to go cross-country skiing on its self-tracked trails running throughout the park. It also features an adjacent petting farm run by volunteers.

Nice running trails. Nice mountain bike trails. Bathroom facilities. Good facilities for group gatherings. Overall free of garbage. Well maintained with a small animal farm.

Looking at the age of the trees here this is clearly a young forest or one that was totally cleared. About 75yrs ago I would say.
Hickory, walnut, beech, oaks. It’s great to see the different forms, leaves and bark even in late autumn with most leaves. so many different paths and trails for people, horses or bikes. Really well thought out

We love coming to Maybury anytime of the year, especially in the fall. Listening to the crunching of leaves underneath our feet, the smell of the fall air and looking at all the beautiful colors that God so graciously painted on the leaves of the trees is a must for everyone. We find it so peaceful there. In the midst of the neighborhoods around you can still find peace and quiet there amongst nature. The park is always maintained and clean. Maybury State Park is always a GREAT park to spend time in!

We come her to get some nature pics with the kids at least once a year. Even in the winter - this is a very scenic place.

Summer time can get busy with food traffic and bikes - so come early.

No food options close by either- so stock up the picnics basket Boo Boo! Or just bring take out and enjoy nature. It better get - do some grilling or camping here!
