A visit here can be ten minutes or two hours. There are hiking trails through the woods, an awesome boardwalk through treetops and a pier on the water. We love it here. I take our jogging double stroller. The bigger wheels are helpful in muddy...More

What a lovely park with easy to walk trails through very interesting and unique to the area marshland. We saw a huge, beautiful bird, a family of ducks and plenty of dragonflies. Highly recommended for an enjoyable stop in nature. Plan to spend about 60-90...More

We enjoyed our short walk around this little park. We didn't see much wildlife, but enjoyed our time here. We were surprised at how short the trail really was. Nice overlook.

We stopped here when we saw the sign. We were worried since we were not dressed to hike; flip flops. It was a short and flat walk. Beautiful views of the marsh. We looked at both views on the boardwalk and the canopy. We enjoyed...More

I love going to various parks in the area especially to walk the dog and while they are all enjoyable Galien River park is quite different and it's not hard to see why. 1st is how easy it is to access right off of Red...More

Happened upon this park during an ‘exploring’ drive along US 12, and was instantly in love with it! Can’t wait to go back and spend more time :)

Nice outdoor walk with children. High walkway up in the treetops or low boardwalk down by the marsh. Trails are short, doesn’t take a lot of time, but it’s a nice stop. Across the street is New Buffalo Township Memorial Park with a nice playground...More

If you’re looking for a place to stretch your legs a bit, Galien River County Park is a great option. While the trails are short, they are very well-maintained. Even the “Ridge Trail” section, which isn’t as wide, was really easy hiking and well taken...More

I believe they close in winter due to icy walks and high snow. There’s a sign at the gate of the canopy walk that notes seasonal closing.
