Not there anymore?
Aug 2017 • Couples
We saw this place on a publication and got quite excited. Decided to go there and after a bit of problems with the sat nav we got there, to find, it was permanently closed! I'm not sure if it may open sometime soon but you should check before you go.

Fascinating garden

Interesting garden, not best time of year to visit, many plants finished flowering but could imagine that would be beautiful earlier in year

Exquisite.

Very magical rethinking and representation of alchemy, shown in garden form. If you enjoy gardens, especially ones with a point of view and a message, not to be missed.

Magical garden
Aug 2015 • Couples
If you like visiting gardens and you're in the area, I thoroughly recommend a trip to the Jardin de l'alchimiste. The day we went we had the garden almost to ourselves which added to the magic. It takes about an hour to get round the four sections.

Wonderful and unusual garden
May 2015 • Couples
Springtime is the best time to pay a visit to this unusual garden. Created over the last few years and now maturing gracefully, it is split into two distinct parts. The first part is inspired by Nostradamus who lived in nearby St Remy de Provence. The entrance spells out in topiary forming a pathway, the introduction to the bible in Hebrew " in the beginning"! You then enter the magical plants section, which is full of specimen plants and beds. Here you will also find the grapevine arbour, on our first visit in September, the bunches of grapes were heavy on the plants and you were encouraged to pick a grape to sample! The vines were labelled with the varieties and it was exciting to be able to taste your favourite wine grapes strailhead off the plant.
After this part, you are led into the alchemists garden proper, starting with the black garden, then the white, then finally the red. The colours if the plants give the names, so there are hundreds of white flowering rose bushes in the White garden and similar number of red roses in the final garden.
Do ask at the reception and the very helpful lady will explain it all to you, it is far more comprehensive than I can post on here. However for 8 euros, or 6 for concessions, you will spend a very enjoyable time here in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Near to St Remy de Provence and the delightful small perched village of Eygalieres, a must visit short excursion.
