Lac de Sainte-Croix is beautiful place. You can rent a pedal boat or kayak from the north coast of lake and spend hour or two on the lake or you can visit on a mouth of river verdon. At least our children really like use...More
When driving from Nice to Moustiers Saint Marie we stopped at this lake to enjoy the water and have lunch on the bank.
While we didn't have time to rent a water-bike or kayak, we saw many people enjoying a variety of water activities.
The big lake at the entrance to the Verdon gorge is an interesting starting and ending point for the trip. There is lots of parking here as well as all of the boat rentals to visit the gorge. There are several swimming areas and the...More

Where to travel from to get to Lac De Sainte- Croix? (1 Replies)
Hi all, Spending 4 days in Paris this May and getting the train down to Marseilles to travel along the coast for a week. I would loveee to visit Lac De Sainte- Croix and see the beautiful lake. My question is; along the coast from Marseilles to Nice, where would be the best place to hire a car for 2 days to visit the area? Our flight is leaving from Nice and we are not sure where we are stopping along the coast from Marseille to Nice yet, but where would be easiest to pick up...More

Well, the lake is not that spectacular. The Gorges du Verdon are! But it can be reached from anywhere between Marseille and Nice by car and its a relaxed day-tour. For accommodation do an area search at kayak.com, starting at "Moustiers-Sainte-Marie". When you are a fan of lakes, let me recommend the "Lac de Serre-Poncon" which coast in parts appears like Norwegian fjords.

Visiting the Verdon Gorge - Lac de Sainte Croix (1 Replies)
I'm staying in Aix-en-Provence for a couple nights with my cousin, and we wanted to go see the Verdon Gorge. The problem is that both of us cannot drive. What I really want to do is go to the Lac de Sainte Croix and rowboat by the opening of the gorge on the north side of the lake. Do you guys have any tips for public transportation, taxis, or tours that could get us there? I know its supposed to be really hard to get there without a car so any tips would be much appreciated. Please help make...More
