We visited on a blistering hot afternoon in October when the sky was cobalt blue and shades of autumn abounded. A friendly organisation of steam and diesel train enthusiasts keep this 5 mile stretch of track and rolling stock open so we can enjoy some...More

Stunning views along the line, but I might have stayed in the station, if I had realised how close to the edge the track was in places. However, it has been safely operating for 130 years, so you won't be at risk. If you're not...More

Went on a rainy day on holiday. Steam train with multiple carriages takes you from Martel to St.Denise de Martel, and then back the same way. Try to sit on the side of carriage away from the station building as that is 'view-side'. Goods views...More

Great historic town in France. Tour the back streets for lovely restaurants. Nice market during the week. Ideal for walkers or car people. Lots of things to see and do.

This was fab. Great views over the bridges you cross. Really enjoyed this ride. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys nice views and train rides on a steam train.

As a confirmed Railway Anorak, I was delighted to visit and ride on this preserved railway. True, the passenger accommodation is not luxurious, and the journey was slow, but it was great fun and gave a real flavour of French rail travel in the days...More

A visit in late June. About an hour. It was fun from start to finish....fantastic views across the valley and the fun of chugging along the mountainside in the jerky way we oldsters have always loved. A couple of stops to enable fotos or a...More

Whilst staying in the Dordogne decided to visit the railway on a very hot Sunday as found out that the steam train was running and thought it would be something different to do on my husband's birthday. There is plenty of car parking both outside...More
