This is a winery tour like no other. On a beautiful sunny day, we were greeted by lovely Eugénie to tour this extraordinary winemaking facility. (Note: you don't tour the castle, that is a private residence.) Eugénie thoughtfully walked us through an overview of their system and their processes, concluding the visit with a tasting of several wines from various years. M. Ladoucette clearly runs an extraordinary operation using only the highest standards. If you enjoy wine, this is an excellent spot.

We had a delightful day with Rachel from Comte Lafond, who own the De Ladoutcette vineyards and winery, exploring Sancerre and their wines. Her local perspective gave us insight and access we would not have had otherwise, and she is delightful company. We especially loved the tasting above the vines in Bue. Louis, the presenter, was superbly informative and accommodating. We arrived slightly late for our scheduled tasting, but he did not rush us through. Delicious wine, excellent commentary: an altogether delightful experience.

We drove past en route to another vineyard and were blown away by the stunning castle and vineyards. So we came by on our way and it was just stunning! The castle against the perfect blue sky... just wow. And oh, the wines too! Our delightful host took us through the various wines and suffice to say, we didn’t leave empty handed 😃
