From Blaye, cross the Gironde Estuary by ferry to Lamarque, in the midst of the Médoc, was lovely, the weather was warm and sunny. We sat on the open deck, very relaxing and admiring the views across the estuary.

If you're just going for the day, leave the car in Lamarque and pay 2.70 euro per crossing as a foot passenger. The ferry brings you direct to Blaye and the Citadel in 20 minutes and on a sunny day the views are very attractive....More
