Hoffmaster State Park is my all time favorite beach!!! It is much less busy than Grand Haven State Park beach or Muskegon State Park beach. I love the quite times watching the sunset over beautiful Lake Michigan. I also enjoy the BEST SAND for playing with my grandchildren. The sand is so pure and beautiful! Climbing the sand dunes are... More

It was a great day by the beach. It was a little windy and the waves were pretty high. Made a great scene for pictures. The campgrounds were not too busy the day we stopped by the park.

Very nice beach with clean restrooms and changing area. We only went to the beach on this trip, but the campground is also very good. The sites are large enough for most campers and the restrooms and showers are clean.

I went camping there for the weekend. It's a bit of a hike from the campgrounds to the beach/dune area. Bring bug spray, there are lots of mosquitoes. The area is vast and you can spread out on the beach without being on top of someone else. I went in late August. It was very family friendly. There is lots... More

We thought that the park had sand dunes however we could not see any other than stairs leading to nowhere. If you have extra time this park might be worth it.

Clean beach not too crowded. Plenty of parking. Bathroom/changing stations very clean and well kept. The sand dunes are an added bonus for the kids!

Very nice state park. The the beach, the park and the visiting center is nice. The stairs to top are painful to claim but it's a must as the view is amazing.

Many trails and spectacular views of lake Michigan and the rolling dunes. Early morning or a sunset visit is best in the middle of summer as the parking fills up, but some how still not as crowded as many other beaches in west Michigan. Good family beach as well since there are some more guidelines around state parks than some... More

First time camping. Friends had it booked for a group of family and we took the spot of a family who cancelled. The kids loved it. I was impressed even though I dont like the idea of camping- bugs and dirt and such. But it was enjoyable although a lot of work with 4 kids. We had a tent. Hard... More
