Had no idea this piece of history was in Michigan and available to tour. The volunteers have done a tremendous job. Be sure to watch film before visiting.

Stopped by and it IS open on Mondays. Very interesting museum inside. I was on an LST in Vietnam (not this one) and they have kept it faithful to original.

We visited this ship when it opened. The self guided tour is very good. The ship is absolutely wonderful. You will definitely enjoy this, also a good place for a family outing. It is a must do if near by.
