My wife talked me into heading to Muskegon for The Singing Christmas Tree. We were both pleasantly surprised at the quality of production and the quality acoustics in the theatre.
That said, it *looks* like a stunning setting. However, this production had to command so much of the stage, proscenium, and surrounding area that it's tough to judge just how magnificent it might be. But, what we could see suggests a wonderfully restored structure and good concert venue.

We visited for the singing Christmas Tree. The venue is very ornate and just beautiful. The acoustics were very good. I didn't mind the seating and really appreciated the whole experience.

We went to see the Celtic Woman concert here. The view from our seats was great. It's been renovated, but retains the original beautiful ornateness. It's not that big, so I would imagine all of the seats are not bad. Would definitely see another concert here.

This is a hundred year old theater which is highly ornate and beautifully decorated. It should be a community jewel,,, but.,,,, the seating is like 100 years old too. Very small seats, with less room than one would have riding coach on an airplane. If no one is sitting next to you it is OK, otherwise plan on a lot of body contact. If they put reasonable seating in this theater would be a five star. As beautiful this theater is, it doen's overcome sitting for hours on end in an uncomfortable chair.

A truly beautiful old building to see a play or hear the orchestra in. Love the old architecture.
That being said the seating is a nightmare. The seats are so tightly packed together that the airlines are jealous. There is no room on either side or in front of you. The seats are also uncomfortable. The decor could also use some updating.
Overall I'm giving 3 stars. I considered 2, but the architecture and history saves it. Would I return? No. Too tight for me.

We have been to the Frauental many times and always marvel at the beauty of the interior. We have been there for the Singing Christmas Tree and for several others entertainment venues. The seating is fairly comfortable and the ushers always helpful. the Smash Restaurant is located in the lower level and offers a pleasant plce to have a meal or drink before or after a performance.

Wonderful renovated theater hosted the 250 person choir from Mona Shores HS. Great sight lines, very helpful staff, excellent sound all contribute to a memorable experience!
