From start to finish, my girlfriend and I had an amazing experience. We traveled from South Bend, IN to Munising. Upon Arrival at Northern Water Adventures, the staff was friendly and welcoming to us. The guides were very well versed, and provided a safe and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend Norther Waters Adventures to anyone looking to do some kayaking at Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. This was our first trip to the UP and our experience was absolutely incredible. This experience was well worth the money spent, and we plan on returning.

Perfect way to experience some truly remarkable and beautiful rock formations and scenery. Our guides were Alexandria and Olivia, both knowledgeable, experienced and fun. Since not many on the tour are overly experienced at kayaking (myself included), the kayaks tend to diverge. I only mention this to suggest staying as close as possible to the guides. They have good stories and info, but you can only hear them if you are close (they are not going to bring megaphones). The last point before you turn around involves kayaking over a shipwreck. It is difficult to see much of anything, but you can see a little and it has a novelty factor to it. Kayaking is definitely a must in Munising and you probably don't want to try it without a guide. My wife and 11 year old son were able to handle the 1/2 day excursion without getting exhausted. That being said, more than a half a day for any of us would have probably been too much. Be super mindful of the weather! We went on a perfect day...calm waters and warm enough for shorts and t-shirts. Other days you probably will want to bring a jacket. Awesome awesome awesome.

We were very impressed with the level of professionalism and the care for our safety while out on the water. The guides remembered the entire groups names right away. The guides were helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and very present!! The scenery is simply majestic, and you are able to kyak right up to the rocks. The only negative I could find to say would be it is hard to find the meeting point right outside of town, even after typing in the address. Once we found it, everything from start to finish was well organized and COVID safety precautions in place. I would highly recommend this business to see the incredible sights of Pictured Rocks.

Five of us booked a guided kayak tour with Northern Waters Adventures and it was amazing! Our original trip was cancelled due to water conditions and we were able to rebook for the next day (August 28th). Two of us were new to the experience and three of us had done it before on a perfectly sunny, beautiful and warm day. That was fantastic! One of us (me!) was unhappy about the weather prediction (rain, about 66 degrees) for our evening tour hoped all day it would be cancelled. Thank goodness it wasn't! Seeing the Pictured Rocks in any light is gorgeous and for those of us who had done it previously, it was a different but great experience. For those who had never done it, it was spectacular. The Northern Adventures staff did a great job. We were assured that conditions were safe and that the water was actually "like glass." And it was. (The water was also surprisingly warm and I was dressed enough that I never felt cold). During the "lesson" prior to getting on the lake, it is easy to see that the staff are trained and knowledgeable and take safety seriously. Our guides, Phil and Brody, were skilled and knowledgeable, and also a lot of fun. It made the trip great. I highly recommend it and Northern Waters Adventures!
