We viewed the Pictured Rocks from a sunset cruise and again the following day we drove out to the National Lakeshore. The pristine beaches seemed endless. Unfortunately, the stable flies were biting like crazy and we couldn't keep them off us, so our visit was very short.

We did a 9 mile run beginning at the Chapel Falls parking lot and were able to see things that a boat tour doesn't get you. You can walk down on the beach and touch the lakeshore. It was beautiful!

we loved our day spent at the Pictured Rocks. We started with a boat tour which is a must. Then we took a drive and stopped at several easily accessible outlooks. We saw the water, the forest, and the dunes. It looked liked a great place to camp and hike as well. Note: If you have a larger group it... More

Pictured Rocks runs along the northern coast of the Upper Peninsula east of Munising. There are hiking trails, sandy beaches, waterfalls, and some views of the rocks and bluffs that make the National Lakeshore famous. To really fully appreciate the beauty of the place you MUST take one of the cruises that view the bluffs from the lake. My recommendation... More

I had mot been here in at least 45 years ... so much nicer now ... beautiful views with easy walking trails ... i think if u really want to appreciate the beauty u need to do a cruise... but the park and walking paths and view points are worth the trip

It's so pretty and seems untouched at times . Please let's leave that way. The park is free . The ranger at the east entrance was awesome . Answered ever question I could throw at him . All of the park rangers are great.

After our cruise was canceled we drove up here and started exploring. The overlooks are amazing and it is a short one mile hike out to the beach. The beach is fantastic! We spent half a day just wondering around and enjoying the scenery. I think it was better than doing the cruise. Yes, we didn't get the photo ops... More

Swung up to Munising from Mackinac Island to see Pictured Rocks on the sunset cruise. Left for Tahquamenon Falls the next day after seeing Minors Falls and Castle Rock. Could have spent the whole day here or more depending on where you want to hike. Just didn't have time but really enjoyed seeing this area. It ranks right up there... More

This park follows the tip of the UP along the Big Lake, Superior. We had limited time (three hours) but what we could fit in was well worth it! We hiked down Sable Falls to Lake Superior, bought a new National Park Passport (WELL WORTH IT for your kids and you!) at the ranger station, tumbled down Log Slide, and... More

The park was very nice. Make sure to visit the log flume, but only walk down and up if you are in good shape. I'm nearly 60 and went down and back in about 15 minutes, but there were parts of the trip up that were very difficult (a couple of rock ledges to get over that I kept slipping... More
