This tour is a Munising "MUST DO". The tour lasts 2 hours. They take you to two ship wrecks & provide a lot of time to look at them. They are very knowledgeable about the wrecks and the area. They also take you to see some of the Pictured Rocks. They have indoor kennel's to use for free for your dog (just pay $5 to rent one of their pad locks). I had three 12 year old boys with me & they really enjoyed the tour. If you get sea sick, I would recommend taking some medication the night before, just so your trip isn't ruined by being sick. The boat is huge and new so it handles the water very well but the day we went out there was small craft advisories.

So glad you enjoyed the new boat. It’s definitely one of a kind! As far as we know, it has the largest glass bottom in the world with over 150 square feet of glass! The cliffs on Grand Island are made of the same components as the Pictured Rocks and are a stunning little gem to us!

This boat tour unfortunately sits in the shadow of the Pictured Rocks boat tour along the park cliffs. This one is a highlight in its own right. The cruise consists of two shipwrecks off the Grand Island shore and a close-up view of the Grand Island East Channel Lighthouse seen in about two hours. I highly, highly recommend this.

There is not a bad seat on the boat because everyone gets an equal turn at the viewing windows. The passengers are divided into two groups. When they reach a shipwreck, group one gathers around the windows while the narrator explains the wreck and group two waits in their seats. Then group one takes their seats and group two gathers around the windows and the process is repeated.

JUST DO IT! We put this off for years and are so glad we did this. We enjoyed seeing the two shipwrecks, grand island cove and waterfall, and learning about the history of the shipwrecks and area. Captain Kate and her fun and jovial 1st mate (brain lapse)_____ were so much fun and knowledgeable. They communicated well with one another when trolling over the areas to give the best view. 1st mate went around and visited with each and every person and made sure everyone was comfortable. It poured when we got back to the dock. The gift shop had reasonably priced books and souvenirs, a nice bathroom and beverage cooler. You can take beverages and snacks. We were able to share pictures with our 5 year old grandson who is obsessed (this month) with pirates and ships. We bought him a book and shipwreck coin (wink).

My husband and I took the tour for our honeymoon. We had captain Kate and Heidi as our narrator. We had such a great time, and you can tell that these awesome women truly love their jobs. They were both very knowledgable and we learned a lot about the area while we were on our tour. Everything was very clean and we were all able to social distance, and the viewing areas were cleaned before another group came up. We have recommended this tour to many people already, and many family members are booking their trips upon our recommendation!

The captain and crew were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, they explained all of the points of interest in the area and the shipwrecks. Because of the wind speed and the lake conditions we were not able to see the second shipwreck but they refunded half of the fare. Can't wait for the next trip!

Captain Kate did a fantastic job sharing fascinating stories and historical facts about shipwrecks throughout Lake Superior. My family enjoyed getting to the view the wrecks through the glass.

The tour also allows the passengers to see Grand Island up close, and the views are stunning.

The combination of history and nature on this tour make it worth every penny.

Tip:
I'm glad we did this tour before the Maritime Museum in Marquette. It created some curiosity about shipwrecks and lighthouses before we went to the museum.

This tour is fantastic!! The shipwrecks are much more visible than I'd imagined. The narration included unique tidbits of history which I quite enjoyed. The crew also did a fantastic job of disinfecting and the lowered capacity made social distancing easy. A great experience all around!!

The boat tour was incredible and so beautiful. The captain was great and so informative and so were the crew on deck. I will say my only qualm is that there is no age restriction. 1 infant baby & a child who looked under 4 were screaming & crying the entire time. I’m sorry but children under 5 should not be allowed, as crying & screaming really ruined the experience. We are giving it 5 stars because the boat tour was truly amazing and so beautiful….. but with no age restriction, I really wouldn’t recommend it to anyone because being on a boat for 2 hours with multiple screaming & fussy children was honestly the worst. I really don’t know why anyone would bring an infant child or a child that young anyways on a 2 hour boat tour.. but would suggest to rethink the ages allowed.

I always love this tour and seeing the Pictured Rocks area. You see a lot more than just ship wrecks. However, due to weather, this was the first time I've gotten to see both! In the past, when we only seen one because of waves/weather we were refunded for a part of the trip (awesome that they would offer this especially sense Lake Superior can be testy). The hosts are great and knowledgeable. They make it fun. With the Covid stuff currently going on, they still maintained a clean, safe and social distanced environment AND managed to do it all so everyone could see.

I'll go back again!

This was the coolest! The boat was so clean and seats were comfortable. The staff was super nice, friendly, and informative. The ride to the first wreck was so cool! The weather was very cloudy that day And the waves were getting very high. For safety reasons, the boat headed back to shore. The company kindly refunded 1/2 our money since we missed out on seeing the second shipwreck. We would certainly do this tour again!

Thank you for the great review! 1/2 trips are still amazing with the fully intact Shipwreck from 1860 and the East Channel Lighthouse on Grand Island. Oh, and I almost forgot the Eagles nest! We hope you got to see some eagles on the tour as we often do.
