The temple was very colourful with attractive statues and paintings all over the walls and also on the ceiling. The Kovil is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali and specifically to Badrakali Amman. It has a central Shrine and other shrines are placed on either side.It is very sacred place and we saw some devotees praying..It has a Dravidon architechture.Swami Rock can also be seen from there. It is located closer to the Hindu College beyond Koneshwaram road Esplanade near the Koneshwaran Temple

much locally revered it is said that devotees should first darshan take darshan at the Ganesha temple outside then the Bhadra kali temple and then go to koneshwaram.the three are located in a straight line and the koneswaram temple is clearly visible from here.
located in the heart of town this is accessible and worth a quick visit.

Pathirakali Amman, which we find far more compelling than the more revered Koneswaram. The exterior alone is remarkable, but it's the interior that really blows our minds, with even the ceilings covered in richly detailed and brightly colored sculptures.

Fabulous temple, such friendly and welcoming people. You can take photographs inside, which you can't do in the other temples.

Another Hindu Temple and a popular place of worship for the local hindu and singhalese people. No footwear or head gear and no upper body covering for men. No photos inside the temple

This Hindu temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. 11.30am they have prayers and we were lucky to be there. We felt very welcome being non Hindu. We were blessed with two dots on our forehead - a humbling experience. The temple is brightly painted inside and out.
