Unfortunately the temple was closed when we were there. It was still very nice to walk around the temple and take a look at the temple from the outside. It is amazing to see all the handiwork on the outside. The colors are something to see.

This temple is stunning and very close to the bus terminal. We actually walked from the other temple at the clif across the cricket field to it. (Very long walk ;-)) However, the temple is nice you could take pictures & film insight and outsight. Just be modest and respect the praying people and don't wear shoes etc .... The sculptures are stunning and very colourful. A must see!

Fabulous temple, such friendly and welcoming people. You can take photographs inside, which you can't do in the other temples.

We were amazed by the colours and intricate painting of the Hindu temples in this area. The inside is also very ornate.

This kovil is located just 200 feet from the Trincomalee Bus Terminus. there is no compound around the temple complex. First you will come accross a Vinayakar kovil. Get your blessings there and go on to this temple. The Kovil opens at 6.30 a.m. and the morning pooja is at 7 a.m. the Kovil will close in the afternoon and open for darshan again in the evening from 4 - 6.30. p.m.
The face of Sri Bhadrakali Amman is adorned in Silver and it was mesmerizing. You can feel the power of the goddess when you stand and pray in front of her. I was overwhelmed by the sight and felt blessed. i recommend that one should not miss an opportunity to visit this kovil and get the blessings of the goddess.

Incredible temple, like someone on LSD created this place. Never seen anything like this in my life, and I was twice in India. Very special and beautiful temple. If you have time, make sure to visit this site in Trinco.

This temple is in the vicinity of Trinco town. It's a fantastic temple. Please respect the local dress code if you want to go inside.

We all really enjoyed this temple. The colors and decorations and figures where all so beautiful and on a grand scale. We found traveling with small children in Sri Lanka very tiering so having this right in Trinco was amazing. The sea views from around the temple where beautiful as well. Make sure not to miss the steps that lead you around the side of the hill, beautiful views from there.
Not being Hindu we didn't understand much about the temple and there was no information offered. This did not detract from the experience however.
You are not allowed to wear shoes in and around the temple. The ground was really hot in December and my children feet where burning, so if you are there in hotter months I would recommend visiting in the cooler parts of the day.
Our children really enjoyed the little market stalls on the hill towards the temple. They all walked away with a small souvenir.
It was worth visiting and I would go back again.

This is a beautiful colourful temple from the exterior but when we went it wasn't open to have a wander inside. It was really busy with locals coming and praying beside the small statues dotted around outside and there weren't any tourists there at all. I don't think it's really worth the trip especially to see it, however if you're in the area it's worth stopping at.

It is very colourful with attractive statues and paintings all over the walls and also on the ceiling. The Kobil is dedicated to Goddess Bhadtakali and specifically to Parthikali Amman. It has a central Shrine and other shrines are placed on either side.It is very sacred place and we saw some devotees praying.
It is located closer to the Hindu College beyond Konesh road Esplanade near the Koneshwaran Temple. It has a Dravidon architechture.Suwami Rock can also be seen from there.

What is the meaning of each of the carvings on the ceiling? For example, the babies with their umbilical cords?
