It's a stunning monument located on the hill overlooking the mesmerizing Phewa lake. It's a buddist temple.
Shanti Stupa is in Pokhara. It's also called as Peace Pagoda. Worth a visit but need to climb a lots of steps to reach there.

Situated near the monastic Zone in Lumbini, this white-coloured domed Pagoda and its long stone-paved path leading to the staircase with the golden statue of Lord Buddha at the entrance adds eteranal peace to this peaceful site. The place inspires us to let peace prevail in the world. A must visit place.

First of all world peace pagoda is in pokhara nepal and not in lumbini. If youre pokhara you must go to the peace pagoda. Two ways to go, the easy way is taking a cab up and just enjoying the amazing view on top of the himalayam mountain range and phewa tal from one side and another amazing voew to the other side. The second way to go to world peace pagoda is by taking a boat from any port in pokhara the town to the other side and hike the trail up to world peace pagoda which take around 45 mns approximately depending on the pace, and in the hike youll get to enjoy the amazing view every step of the way of the lake
On short world peace pagoda on a clear day is like heaven

World Peace Pagoda has been build by Nipponzan / japnese after the 2nd world war towards a step to maintain peace in the world.
Lord Buddha relics have been enshrined on the foundation stone and at top of the peace Pagoda.
The place has a great relevance to Gautam Buddha's life.
Like in Hindu religion, there are 4 pilgrimage sites / Dhams, similarly in Buddhism, there are 4 pilgrimage sites suggested to visit.
these 4 sites has relevance to Gautam Buddha's journey.
1st site - birth place of gautam bhuddha - lumbini.
2nd site- where Buddha got enlightenment- Bodhgaya
3rd site - place where Buddha Practised preaching - Sarnath
4th site - where he left his body - Kushinagar
all 4 stages are shown at this pagoda.
beautiful site, silence is followed. cool, calm place. there was positive energy that you can feel in the atmosphere.
had there been any way / allowed to enter the pagoda & allowed to practice meditation, it was a dream come true for me.

Wonderful Japanese shanti stupa located close to the Sri Lanka Pilgrim guest house north of the Lumbini monastic zone.
Circumambulating around the Stupa and you will be rewarded with the Panoramic view of Lumbini.
Head to the Prayer hall and temple as well and you will find information on daily Prayer/Puja timetables led by the residing Japanese monks.

Very peaceful place with stunning views of the city. There are only a couple of similar Pagodas in Nepal so it's a must-see when visiting Pokhara.
