Siddha Pokhari, centuries old pond was constructed during rule of the Medieval King Yakshya Malla in the early fifteenth century. It is considered as the most ancient pond in Bhaktapur . This human made pond is 171 m long, 73 m wide and about 3 m deep. Located near the main city gate in Bhaktapur, Siddha Pokhari is associated with a number of myths both religious and archeological importance has been one of the popular hangout. The pond is full of fishes and fish feeding is one of the major attraction of Siddha Pokhari where visitors can purchase fish food from the local shops. From this spot a wide range of snowy peaks are visible on clear days

The place doesn’t require tickets for tourists. The pond has religious and cultural significance. The clean green water with white architecture looks beautiful. It is a good place to hangout with friends. You can feed fishes here, walk around the pond or sit in the sitting areas.
I recommend to visit this place in the late afternoon or evening. During some festivals, the place is beautifully lighted in the evening.

Has A great significance but with overcrowded people and lack of maintenance the place has somewhat lost its charm.. But having said that people looking for a nice outing visiting siddha pokhari can be your cup of tea especially at afternoon.

We stopped here on our way out of Bhaktapur and enjoyed a stroll around the reservoir. There were only a couple of other people here - courting couples. It's a walled reservoir with resting houses around it. It's not for swimming as there's algae. But a pleasant enough place.

I visited Nepal some time ago but never had time to write reviews till now. This is just one of the fascinating ancient temples in Bhaktapur. All these relatively well-maintained buildings are astoundingly beautiful, and this historic old part of town is a must visit for anyone in Nepal. But, I don't know enough to say anything specific about this temple itself. Just go, you won't regret it.

This is an ancient pond and is apparently a place to hang out and it also is used for some festivals. You can find it near the entrance gate to the old town. It is roughly 170 meters by 70 meters and 3 meters deep. The water is algae filled and looks as if it may have ben there since the 15th century but it is water and better than none.

Take a walk around the pond and feed the fish. It is just out of the centre of Bhaktapur but easy to find.
